Hey, if anyone has a suggestion for a mini game, please reply here. One important note; it should be a short game, lasting 3 minutes or less, and involve a bit of strategy/skill and not as much luck and hack/slash. This is just for my multiplayer Dog Eat Dog map (based off the TV show somewhat), and I have all my other games lined up, just looking for one last one. If you have any further interest in this map, feel free to send an email to [email protected]. It should be ready for a weekend upload. One other thing; think big, but note that I only have a small space for each game. Each area comes to about 1/6th of the 96x96 map. Thanks! |

Thanks, but that is too complicated a mini game for the time I want this game to last. I might consider it in a later version. I finally thought up a good one though. |

Maybe you could do a minigame were you each have a unit with ensnare, preferably edited otherwise it wont work right, and you have to see who can ensnare the most targets in 30 seconds. And you could have varying levels of difficulty and different units with different point values. That would be kinda fun, and it would make use of one of the most under-used abilities in the game. |

couse if it is you could do (if your usimng cunstom skins and moddles) make a moddle firehidrent (wyveryn riderless) and custom spell pee (ensnare) and whoever dog pees on the most wins :P |

Here's a few! 1. A race controlled using w,a,s,d keys or whatever. Too omplicated, you think. Easiest way is moving regions. Search for the PacMan game on the retail map download section. Feel free to completely rip it off if you want, too. 2. Make a simple "sheep dodger" type game. 3. A maze where the camera is zoomed really close to your unit and there's a time limit to get out. The more time left on the clock, the better the prize. - - - I'd give you a couple more good ideas, but I'll probably use em in my DBZ game or some other map I make. |

Some good ideas. My idea is that if this game catches on at all, I'll make new versions where the different arenas can be used for different events. Like at the beginning of the game it will randomly select a list of events to play through. The premise behind the game is a mix between the shows Weakest Link, Survivor, and Fear Factor. Six contestants vote for a "loser" to be sent to the dog pound. However, that person has a chance to turn the tables by winning one of the several events. If they win, they can choose one of the people who voted for them to go to the dog pound in their place. The person who survives the first 5 events becomes top dog and faces off against the dog pound in the final event. My current list is: 1) Survival - You have to keep your contestant alive for 1min 30 sec while outrunning a bunch of undead type units in a graveyard. They spawn at random points, and random items pop up such as speed potion and grenade (which when used, you can then right click on enemies to explode it and units within 400 range of it). 2) Tile Control - Sort of like zone control, but instead of building towers all you do is run onto the different tiles and claim the points it is worth and change the circle of power on it to your color. First person to 15 points wins (unless 2 minutes is up, which will auto eliminate the contestant voted off prior). Also, different types of units will spawn every 15 seconds for whoever owns that tile. 3) CTF - Pretty simplistic, just bring your opponents flag back to yours. There are also neutral victim units that pop up and if you click on them within 10 seconds they become yours, otherwise they turn to neutral hostile. 4) Island Town Defense - A group of pirates (your opponent) will try to destroy all the buildings of your town within 2 min 30 sec. The person voted off will try to stop them, and for the buildings that still exist he can control villagers (with repair, rejuv, and different useful spells). 5) Horse Race - When four rounds are up there is an event like this that will determine the top dog. Two horses, who start off extremely slow, run towards the finish line. If you kill neutral hostile units, or pick up certain items, your horse speeds up. If you knock out your enemy (they always revive), then you send his horse back a couple spaces. The final event is probably always going to be trivia, based off the TV show. The top dog will select one of the 5 people from the Dog Pound to answer a question from one of the different categories. If they answer it correctly, then they get a point, otherwise the top dog gets a point. First to 3 pts wins the game. After asked a question, the person can't be selected again. |

Love the idea Trav. Towards the end of summer, I wanted to do something like this as well. Never got a chance, but glad I'll be able to see the concept in action soon. My version of it would've been a composition of commonly played maps on bnet. Sheep dodge, tower defense/offense, cat/mouse, aos, etc. I think you have a pretty solid list of minigames lined up. Should be fun to play. :D |

How about, "Steal Gravano's Treasure!". ARRRRRR Matey |

Yeh, I've been thinking of trying this for a while, but was held down by work and finishing up other projects. Not to mention the voting system and all the variables needed are pretty complex, and I'm not the best trigger designer, so it took a while to get it to function properly. I'm running the last multiplayer tests atm and if I don't see any problems it will be uploaded soon. Also, steal Gravano's treasure would be a variation of one of the mini-game names I had originally thought of too. =p |

That sounds like a great idea for a game. If it is good and stable, i can see it becoming very popular on Battle-Net IF you include the random type games. Maybe out of 12 games, and only six get picked per game. Also, having a player slot for a judge (or moderator, if you will) for some events to distribute points. That way you could make interactive games, like a drawing contest type game, or whoever can solve a riddle, or tell the best joke, etc. THAT would be awesome! |

There's a map called Whack-a-Gnoll (Whack-a-Mole), anyone ever played that? Its short, its funny, and just plain easy to play. You just select a Gnoll as it pops up and your guy whacks it. |

How about a duck hunt type game. Not the Nintendo duck hunt, but the kind you see at carnivals, where you have a gun and you're aiming at a row of targets behind the counter. You could use something with missile/line (like a ballista) to move around and fire at targets. I believe there's a space invaders map out there that's kind of similar but it would make a nice minigame. |

Oh yeah, thank you for your resident evil Gravano; brings a tear to my eye :D |

This is the current version of it. I did quite a few tests in multiplayer this weekend and got a lot of positive feedback. Most of the bugs have been fixed, but there I'm sure others are lurking about. I have a few finals to take care of tommorrow and Tuesday, then I'll add the finishing touches to it. If anyone has any issues with the current version, or notices any minor or major bugs, please do tell me. :) One other note, it is meant to be played with 6 people from start to finish (about 15 minutes real time). It can be done without, but if it gets below 5 it will make the final challenge way too easy for the Top Dog. |
