I, like many other mappers, have decided to use phoenix fire as a sort of auto attack thing. I based an ability off of it, modified it so it would fire more like a cannon, and gave the ability to an item. It works fine for about 6 shots, then suddenly stops and wont work again for another 30 seconds. Since I cant copy out of the object editor, I'll just show you what i edited in the editor. Phoenix fire ability ============= Missle Art Missle Speed 300 Damage Per Second 0 Initial Damage 6 Area of Effect 700 Cooldown 3.00 Duration Normal 0 Duration Hero 0 Item Ability True Targets allowed (added structure as a target) Slow Cannon Item ============= Abilities - Phoenix fire ability Classification Purchasable Cooldown Group Slow Gold Cost 40 I dont see anything wrong with this. If you want I can attach the whole map on, but I have a feeling the problem is obvious. |

Hmm were there any other valid targets in range? Cause it won't fire against the same target again until the buff has worn off and as you've set the duration to 0 the buff is now staying on the unit permanently (with only a few exceptions durations of 0 make a spell last forever) try setting the duration fields to 0.01. |

Maybe the duration of 0.01 is better than 0.00 as it may leave some graphics on target forever. And do you have many of these items with phoenix fire on one unit? EDIT: Ahh, it's got an answer already :( |

Alright, thanks a lot. Works fine now. Kind of weird for it to mess up with 0.0, but i guess as long as it works... |

Guest | Sounds weird to me... this means that spells with duration of 0 wont work? |

No, it means that with most spells a duration of 0 means they are permanent. |

ie. storm bolt and bash... set the duration to 0 and it last forever if i can recall |
