Guest | You know what a Döppelganger is? That could be a nice unit for a shades race. In case you don't know, I copied this very nice explanation from a site: <<Meaning "double walker" a doppelganger is a shadow-self that accompanies every human. Only the owner of a doppelganger can see it, otherwise it is invisible to human eyes. Dogs and cats have been known to see doppelgangers. Providing sympathetic company, a doppelganger almost always stands behind a person, and they cast no reflection in a mirror. They are prepared to listen and give advice to humans, either implanting ideas in their heads, or a sort of osmosis. It is said to be bad luck if it is seen, and rarely a doppelganger will make itself visible to friends or family, often causing great confusion. Doppelgangers can be mischievous and malicious.>> I'm still thinkin about this so expect another post soon ^^ Salutions® |

Funny you say this KingGigli... you see, I don't got a clue myself where I should put this. I'll keep it here, but Decadence or Dorelian will move this if they see it fit. General Development might be a decent forum for it, while it is surely out of place here, I don't know exactly where I should place it. To be honest, when I saw this thread, I was thinking someone was messing around with me. About 4 years ago, I made my first email and I'm still using it. Now, what is so special about it? Quite simple, the email is: [email protected], and after I saw the name in the thread, (random shadow) it ringed a bell for me. Hey, you at least gave me a chuckle, I was in need of that. Thanks. Oh, yes, the purpose of the thread. I'll improvise again... like usual. Shadow Bones A shadow that was able to construct bones in the body and enables it to attack whenever necessary. Because the bones are different from each other, it has a very fragile body and it can fall apart anytime. Shadow Bones are often used for defense. Shadow Shield Several shadows that are combined in one, making it completely invulnerable, but nearly too heavy to move and it is too slow to attack. The only attack it can do is only a weak punch that will destruct the body on impact. The Shadow Shield is a perfect defender in every way, but when the shadow around the creature is dispelled the creature itself dies as well. Mind Eater Mind Eaters are invisible shadows that are able to corrupt the mind of the normal people, completely taking over the body. While normal and unexperienced shadows die after an action as this, Mind Eaters are able to survive after using this ability, but will be paralyzed for an amount of time, and making it completely vulnerable to any attack. In addition to this, the energy of the Mind Eater will be drained slowly as he is trying to eat the mind of his target. Shadow Rise Shadow Rise creatures are one of the most feared creatures in the world. But when you talk about luck, you talk about these creatures. There are very little left, and there are too many materials necessary to create a small legion of these. Shadow Rises are almost as dangerous as a Shadow Dragon, but weaker in every term. Shadow Rise is able to revive a fallen creature as his will, and that creature will serve him for a full minute. Regardless how strong the creature is he revives. Shadow Rises have a very fragile body and will probably die after the first contact with a living being. Light Eater A suicide shadow that only lives for the purpose of the more fragile shadows. The Light Eater can explode on impact doing NO damage, but a short stun to everyone excluding shadows. This also includes friendly living units that are not shadows. Light Eaters quickly die on the battlefield as well, and they are often seen in large numbers, rushing the opponent, in the hope that at least one of them will hit them. After they attacked, the horde of shadows follows them. I'm assuming you already got creatures like a Shadow Warrior, Mage and Dragon. They are well known across the shadow category after all. I hope this helps. -Fladian |

Guest | Nice ideas, Fladian. I found a place that could be interesting: http://www.zone9.com/bestiary/ It's the site of the "Sisterhood of the Coven" (read more there to know who are they). They have a nice database of creatures and mosters, not very extense but really cool. I'm sure you can get good ideas from that. Salutions® |

got an idea Ashes: Once an noble race long forgotten dwelled into the arts of fire and darkness consumed them selves with fire. Now where theyre hearts were fire grows and where theyre bodies were is now ash. They take the forms of what appears to be tall slender humanoids. There are only five left in the world and they only make allies when needed, The most wise Ash Bishious is most known for his intellect, The second one who is known to burn entire empires to the ground in a single night is called Fyri. The third and fourth were brothers in theyre past and are the quickest Ashes are known as Bendal and Virndilamar. The last and most powerfull Ash is known as Zer, his intentions are still unknown but he is the most feared of the five. |

Creeper A Shadow like creature who's body is warped and twisted from years of torment in the underworld. They are easy to spot in the day light, but they blend into the night as if there was nothing there. They make excellent scouts and they can enter the bodies of weak minded creatures at will, and leave if neccesary. Burning Horror - (Model of a Voidwalker tinted red) A condemned Shadow that normally lives in the underworld, they return to our world to torment the living. They attack with searing bolts of fire that cripple enemies. Their strongest weapon is their ability to gather fire into their bodies and expel it on unsuspecting enemies. A dangerous creature indeed. Possesed- (Pretty much an acolyte) A slave to the shadows, these individuals have sacrificed their souls to serve the Dark One. Although they are still human, they have become more or less a being of the shadows. One of their traits is there ability to slip past the human eye, while barely being noticed. They summon up building from the earth for the Shadows, and they can sacrifice their bodies at altars to become one with the shadows. (Basicly they become a weak melee unit) |

Hmm... let me give my few cents as well again. Horror Clash (inspirated by Metal Sonic :P) A creature that is a combination of multiple shadows and the Burning horror creating a bigger one in general, but losing its ability to sparkle... err... burn. The creature remains as dangerous as it is though, except that it becomes twice as strong in melee power and the health of the creature increases as well. As soon as they combine, they can never be the same again. Pillar of Fear A creature or a building, those who met the creature in their journeys do not dare to say what it is. A huge tentacle sticks out of the ground, attacking every when it can feel their pressence. The pillar of Fear is not very strong nor does it have much health, but the creature is hard to hurt thanks to his slim body and is pretty much immune to ranged weapons. The pillar of Fear strikes fear into the opponent when he hits him, destroying the morale of the man, and making him an easy prey for the acid attacks of the Pillar. Shadow of the Eye A shadow that can barely be seen by his own men, therefore being nearly undetectable, but in result of being nearly undectable, he has to throw away all of his strength in attacking. The Shadow of the Eye is a variation from the Shade of the undead but this creature is somewhat more cheap seeing as it is a lost soul, not a soul distracted from a body. Soul of Eternity Some shadows are born with a high amount of energy at their disposal. If they happen to die in battle, they will leave their soul behind that is able to form into an amount of different creatures if it is brought to the nearest summoning Temple. Pillars of Fear can also eat Soul's of Eternitiy's to refill his own health. Souls without a body are unable to inflict damage to anyone or anything, they are very visible and die at the smallest touch of a living being. Forgotten Misery When a proud and skilled warrior falls in battle unwated, his shadow remains on his body. With the right arts, the shadow can be resummoned into a living being that serves the legions of the shadows. How skilled the warrior is depends on the revived shadow, but usually it is skilled enough to mark it out. If it is a mage that has been revived he will lose all his previous known magic skills, but his melee skills will increase somewhat. Champion of Darkness Like the name says, a champion of the dark areas and undefeatable with mortal hands, or so the legend says. Several of the creatures live in the darkest of areas where no living being dares to venture. A living shadow like this is trained to the best arts that exist and is able to hold multiple objects. Champions of Darkness are able to wear armor, swords, shields, and everything else a living being can do as well. Thanks to his undead body and easy shadow movement, he has no weakness of fatigue or hard movements. Champions of Darkness is the strongest warrior you can face, with no weakness at all. Several adventurers claim that they've met Champions of Darkness with a dragon at their side. Clearly seen, it is a lie, since no one ever survived an encounter with them. To summon a Champion of Darkness you will have to be a desperate man since these creatures follow orders of no one. It is best to summon him as far away from your own base since he will cause rampage to anything around him, regardless of who summoned him, and it definitely isn't possible to stop him without the work of an army. Last one for now... S.H.I.E.L.D A creature that is finally able to hold things with his body, as he did. The creature wears heavy armor and protects his own fragile body with it. Unfortunately, while he wears so much armor and a strong weapon, he is now FAR too slow to become dangerous to any kind of enemy, but he works as a good defender. |

Are you after models? ![]() ![]() |

@Whitehorn thanks but I already found some shade models made by Sheyd. @Fladian thanks again for the ideas - I especially liked the Light Eaters, and Pillars of Fear. Here are mine ideas, just give me a feedback. Tanatos - vicious dragon, representation of death itself. It's mere presence causes all unit around him to slowly die. Also when heavily injured he can consume a unit friend or foe (though foe restore less hp than friends). *Tanatos raises many Rippies dragons which have low hp, even lower attack and one purpose - to die. They sacrifice themselves (kaboom, just a bit different) and if they succeed they will do a 50 dmg to living ground units and 100 dmg to buildings. If they fail they will not explode just die. Nightmare - A unit with no attack whatsoever, it's great speed allows it to escape most of its attackers. Also it's presence cause fear in the hearts of enemies, lowering their attack.*Nightmare also posses the ability to join a Dark Disciple forming a Dark Rider, or to fly becoming a flying nightmare (original name ;) it looks as a pegaz gone bad ) PS. I made some changes after * |

They sound nice, though the Nightmare is quite standard. I like the Dragon though :) |

Tnx. I made some changes (hope you notice them), what do you say about rippies ? |
| 03-30-2005, 02:56 PM | #14 |
I noticed... Tanatos seems like quite the creature to me. Something that is leading an attack to some big... capital... thing.. It's not giving me a hard time imagining it at least. Like I said, Nightmare is very standard. |

Guest | if he wanted the models then would'nt it be better if you gave him the model files? |
