My friend and I are making a map..... He is making the Heros/abilities and I have to copy them onto the main map from a secondary hero/abilities map that he is working on.
I am copying them by opening the heros map then right-clicking and saying "copy",
then I open the main map and paste the unit.

Doesn't that get tiring and I have 8 heros and 40 custom abilities to copy using that method!
Please help!!! I NEED and easier way to copy them:(

use the export abilites/units to file option and then load them from the main map
unless your main map has unchaged abilites/units. then you would need to copy them.

Explaining a more detailed version of Shadow's, go to the Object Editor under Module->Object Editor and go to File->Export object data. Now open your other map, and go to the Import Manager under Module->Import Manager and import that data.

The only problem is that the previous unit data (Towers and spawned creeps) are wiped for the new unit data and I have 34 Towers and 41 custom creeps on the main map.

So it is wipe 74 units and replace with 48 units or copy 48 units into the 75 units map:(
Anyother way?

Nope. Copy'n'paste is your only way..

i think if you extract the unit data and simply copy everything there to the original file then simply import it to the map.
do the same to the spells and it shud work.

But still.. it will require some copy'n'pasting.

u dont get it... instead of copying 41 units one by one, you copy data from one file to another. which can save alot of time.

But that will erase the old data from the map.

it doesnt... if you dont know what i am talking bout dont talk at all...
its doesnt even require you to open the world editor
its opening the map with mpq viewer and extracting the unit/ability data and then cnp it to the main map unit/ability data.

Look at the guys post count, he propably doesn't understand what you are talking about.

I still suggest you to just copy'n'paste everything from the other map to the other.

But you can't have them both open at the same time. And it still takes time to switch between them (with slow computers).
