I have started on a project called The Lich's Games. It is basically a bunch of different games put together into one map. At the start of the game, player 1 chooses the game all the players what to play, and then they play it. I know what your thinking, this has already been done. But all the maps have a twist to them, they involve you using your skill and smarts to win, because in the current game im making, it is nearly impossible to win the game, without using your skills and smarts. You have to think ahead before you make any moves. The reason why I have made this thread, is to get some people thoughts together, and make the maps YOU guys want to play. If this thread can go on for awhile, i can show screenshots and the works. I will also give you guys all the details and such. If you have any suggestions for the game, post here. If you have any comments, post here. Hopefully we can get this thread going for awhile, and I can keep you guys informed about everything that goes on about the map. |

I think some extra information there would be appreciated. Go into further details why you need your "skills" and "smarts". The description reminds me quite a lot about Uther Party though. |

Sorry bout that. Okay the current game I am creating is called Skill Test. It is like a hero line war game, where you summon monsters to the opponents base, and try to kill the other players. You have 1 hero, and if he dies, game over. You have 4 buildings your supposed to use, in order to: A: Heal the hero, B: Attack the opposing summons, C: To upgrade your hero, so he can fight better, and D: your summon building. But the difference is, you dont use gold in order to summon units, you use the buildings mana. Each building has its own mana, the healing building, the attack spell building, and your summon building. The hero upgrade building doesnt use mana, it uses money. So i thought to myself, theres gotta be a bonus to summoning units, and not just waiting until you can summon the ultimate monster. Everytime you summon monsters, you collect a small portion of gold, which you can use to upgrade your hero. The buildings you use to protect your hero from dieing (healing, attack spells, and upgrade) dont regenerate mana. The only way it can get its mana back, is to use the abilities the hero has. The hero has 3 abilities: Transfer mana to Attack Spell, Transfer mana to Healing, and Transfer mana to summon. You use these abilities to give your buildings mana, so you can heal, summon units, and so forth. I have made it so, you HAVE to transfer mana to all buildings in order to survive. I hope that makes it more clear. That is just one of the games. I have many other ideas, but I also need your guys thoughts. Please give me your thoughts on the game, thx. |

sounds alot like Uther Party but uther party gets old after a while. |

It won't be like uther party, because each game will last at least 30 mins. I'm trying to steer away from Uther Party. Also, its not a bunch of mini-games, its a few long strategic games. |

Anyway, sounds like a good idea, if you go through with it. Feel free to take any minigames from pyramid escape, they could be pretty interesting if they're longer and more complex. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to actually help make anything, but good luck! ![]() |

If you could add in suggestions and such, I would appreciate it. As for the question about the 30 mins thing, yes I meant each "mini" game will be atleast 30 mins. From me making it so far, these games aren't "mini". I hope you guys find it interesting. I'll post screenys soon. I will finish this game, I promised myself that. Later on I'll post some screenies, so you guys can get a better view of what im talking about. :D |

What I'm getting from the name "The Lich's Games" is that the lich is kinda the undead emperor, and each game is kind of like an ancient olympic event. The lich, along with a huge audience of violence-lusting undead citizens, are watching the "events" from above. Possibly each player is a sub-lich, telapathically controlling mulitple undead creatures inside the ring. The events are monsterous, dark, gory spectacles, and a source of entertainment for all. Is that what you were thinking, or am I WAY off? Anyway, here's a random game idea: a huge twisting maze of towering ice is randomly generated, and each player starts with a skeleton at the same starting point. Whoever's skeleton reaches the end first wins. Sounds simple, but the maze is filled with monsters big and small, pitfalls and obstacles, and various items. Not to mention all the other players trying to kill you. When a player dies, their skeleton is ressurected at the start with no items. Generating a really good random maze could be tough though... Another one: players build small armies and have a hero, and they must find and obtain all the cursed artifacts (about 4-6). Only the heroes can pick up the artifacts, and once killed, the items are dropped (and the hero can be revived). However, each artifact gives the hero negative effects and auras, making him weaker and more vulnerable with each one he finds. First one to get all of them and return to their base wins. Or if the time runs out, the team with the most wins. |

How about a game were you get alot of cogs and springes and stuff to make a robot. The your robot fights in a free for all battle and the person who wins get a bunch of cogs and stuff to upgrade there robot and the rest get more cogs and stuff to make a new robot (if you lose you get more cogs and things then the winner since he keeps his robot and upgrades it). then after about 5 or so fights you get a ton of stuff to make a very powerful robot for the last round wich takes place in a maze that has traps (aka water wich rusts your robot and weakins it untill you get to a repair station wich uses mana to heal you and remove buffs no mana reng). |

i will probably be using that idea. I like it, cause it will take more then 30 mins, and its a challenging game. These posts are great so far, and when i get home, im gonna give ya guys some screenies. EDIT: Unfortunatly, I don't have the right program to open view, and change the file type, for screenshots. |

Try "The GIMP". It's free, and it's pretty good, although not as good as photoshop. But it'll definately do the job. |
