I can't make custom abilities, they are like imposible to me! I've been trying to do this for ages! I want a Item Ability called "Flash" Unit clicks on Flash All units in attack range or viewing range, accuracy has 60% Chance to Miss and their screen goes all white for 3 seconds with a 4 second fade out.. |

For the first part, do the following. Base a spell off of any summoning spell. Call it Flash. Make the spell summon 1 "Flash Dummy". This unit has no model (or the model of a light missile... I'd suggest the troll witchdoctor's missile) Make sure the summon has the "Locust" ability so it cannot be selected/killed. Make the summon last 1 to 4 seconds, doesnt really matter. Just short. Then, make an ability based off of Silence. Change the stats so the ability has a 60% chance of missing on attack, I think it's possible with Silence. Change the "art" of Silence to something like "Reveal". That has a nice flash look to it. Make it have a big AOE. Make it a single-level unit ability, and give it to your Flash Dummy. Now make a trigger. When unit summons a unit And unit is unit-type "Flash Dummy" Then order summoned unit to Dark Ranger - Silence location of summoning unit Thats the first part. The second part is harder, and I don't have WorldEdit here, so I can't help directly. |

Hmmm... how about picking every unit in the range of the casting unit, and creating a unit to cast curse on it, like every other mass spell around. Then for every unit do the relevant fade filter actions. The problem is that if two units cast at the same time then there could be some fade filter issues. If you want only those whose screen are around the region where the casting unnit is to fade, then I have no idea. And there isn't need for too many graphics since well... all the guy should see is white. If worked out properly. |
