Guest | Im creating a new map called Tales of the Arena, the map is a RPG/Arena Style campaign. It hasn't been started yet but heres what i've thought up so far. It begins with a cinematic of the heros sitting around in a gaurded jail cell. They don't speak but just sit and look, the camera will rotate around the room giving the player a good view of whats going on in there then focusing in on the main character. Then the gaurd speaks saying something like "You got five minutes get ready." The prisoners get up and start walking towards the door the camera kind of focused at the back of the room just showing the back of everyons head, then fade to black. It then fades back into a room that is obviously an armory, the camera focused on the back of the heros head, the camera will then do a look around the room showing a gaurd at a door, a shop, and a few no name characters. The gaurd at the front of the group of people will be giving out instructions on what the room is for, where to select your weapon (which will justify your heros stats for the rest of the game(Example would be he selects a bow he is agility based.)) and when the battle will start. Then it gives the player control of the hero, who can then go and talk to the other arena fighters, select his weapon, and hit a few target dummies to get used to the character before the arena battle starts. Once the battle is ready to start it will start another cinematic, the camera locked behind the heros head again, the hero will run to the center of the room where a gaurd will now be standing. The gaurd will say something to the hero like "I've seen many peasents like you come and go through the arena, but something seems special about you." "Heres a tip don't let the other arena fighters surrond you, if they don't like you they will play dirty.". It will then fade to black, and fade back now showing an arena which you are standing in a circle with the other arena fighters. Control will be givin to the player, as the fight starts the player will not win, then as he nears death (the screen flashing red) the game pauses everyone except hero, cinematic mode starts, the camera rotates around the hero who is doing somewhat of a "power-up" stance, something that will obviously show to the player that the hero just unlocked something inside him, a mixture of effects come from the player, the game is returned to normal just like before pause except the hero now has more health, stronger stats, and a skill point. The battle will be easy to win against the other meere peasents. Cinematic mode, after the fight the hero is walking out of the arena when a cloaked figure pulls him to the side. "I saw what happened to you out there, I can help you harness the power you unlocked." "Come with me." Then it will show a "credit scene" of the hero and the cloaked figure walking through a forest(the trees will all be real-size compared to the hero as will the whole campaign) , but the game will be showing the credits of the campaign (designers,triggers,etc). At the end of the credits the hero and the figure will have reached a small house, end cinematic mode. It stars the hero off infront of the house. Thats it for now, though more will come once we get started. Whats needed: Terrainers Triggerers(I will be helping) Cinematics Modeler(MAYBE if we can't decide on a global theme for the characters) |

he said campaign. he said player. so far this means one person playing a campaign. hence no multiplayer. sorry wormy :p |

Guest | I wanted it to be multiplayer at first, but as my brain kept turning with the great cinematic chances i didn't think it would go well in multi, but in campaign its all about the beauty, the great cinematics, and the powerful storyline. |

Guest | *UPDATE* since no one has decided to join i have launched the project on my own, im currently past the first couple of cinematics and am working on the the arena, hoping someone will join up! |

KaosMaster is working on several other projects not to mention that he could be busy at the moment. Something which is very understandable since it counts for most people, which include me. I will not remove a project from the list in 5 days. A full to 2 weeks of time will be necessary for that, not anything shorter... though I have my doubts regarding 'The Smallest Map'. |

About the beach? Yeah, I would like to hear that too :P Any kind of information you have and want to share you'd better share. Every little bit of interest someone can give to a starting project like this is very well appreciated. |
