WoW The Final Battle

Map Name: WoW The Battle
Map Size: 256-256
Concept: I want to make a new form of AoS, which i plan to do in this project. This map will still have many similaritys to a normal AoS but will also have elements from an RPG map. Each player will choose a hero in AoS style and will have a starting sum of gold, the player then goes out to one of the lanes. There will also be areas that are owned by neutral hostile/passive where players can creep to gain xp or find quests. The max level of a hero will be 100, but it will take several games to get that high level. There will be a save load code which allows you to load your hero, but you can always start on a new one. When the player loads his xp, gold and items will stay as when he saved. There will be several elements from WoW, such as hero classes and races, the battle will be between the Alliance and the Horde.\par

Function: The map will in basic work like a normal AoS, creeps spawn for the computer players every X seconds and move down a lane to attack the other teams creeps. The creeps begin as lvl 1 so you get little xp for them, but when the first tower is killed in the lane, the team that lost the tower has the creeps upgraded in that lane(more hp, lvl 2 more damage). Every time a tower is destroyed the creeps get upgraded. A player will also be able to perform quests to level up, there are no set quests yet but they could involve: Finding someone, killing a monster, delivering a message or defending a point on the map. When a player completes a quest he is rewarded. The main building will be extremly hard to reach, and low level charachters won't kill advance far into the other teams base until he is at least level 15 (takes about 1/1.5 games). Higher level charachters will advance fast into the enemy base for the first two/three towers but the towers get stronger the further into the base they are so even high level chars will have trouble. To kill the other team you will need the following: (one level 100 char and one 50 or higher) or ( three level 50) or (5 level 25+). When the enemy base is destroyed the team is granted a large bounty, the game ends and chars are saved.

Story: The final battle between The Horde and The Alliance is in progress, only the great heros of both sides can decide the outcome of the battle. Much blood will be spilled and there can only be one winning side.

Positions:
1: Triggerer
2: Skinners
1: Hero maker
1: Balancer
Lots: Playtesters
I will be doing the terrain.

Ah, okay.

I guess you shouldn't be asking for testers right away.

Sorry, but a save code in a AOS is a very bad idea. Won't players get bored if they can't get into the enemies base in one game? That is the point of a game, if nobody is a high level, then players will get frustrated and begin to leave. The RPG elements don't really seem to add much to gameplay, maybe you should make quests that the whole team needs to help out with, so strong players don't hog the rewards. Also, the map size is huge for an AOS, you're seriously going to terrain all that just foran AOS? Overall, I can't really see this getting much farther then your average Aeon, but you can try. I hope I didn't sound too offensive, I'm just giving suggestions, but I really dont like Aeons very much :)

Its more of an RPG with a battle going on in the background. So i wouldn't call it an AoS myself. Its a new genre.

When you put it that way, it sounds alot better. The dependance on heros in an AoS gets boring after awhile, leaving the battle to do things without your base being swarmed is something strongly needed in today's Aeons, good luck, I may provide some ideas if I get around to it :)

Flames as long as you have time I would love to have you on the team. So you want to make some heros? I am gonna go ask around the WoW projects if they have any models and skins i can have, and i will promote their project through mine. So i will send u the terrain when it is done and u can play around to whatever u see fit. And add my msn if u want, [email protected]

Sorry for double posting... So here is a pic of the forest on the undead side, i have made it so that you can walk around in all of the forests and there will be a random encounter function. I fixed up those floating trees that u see in the screenshot.

Ooooohhhh... that sounds fun :P

What about:
Find the Hunters

Find 6 hunters that were lost while hunting for Dragons - kill any Dragon on your path as well, they will be hostile towards the Hunters.

The hunters are spread from each other, but not too far away from each other and rather easy to find. Only one thing, those hunters are pretty strong and it is not some people you would like to fight against.
After finding the first one (whichever one, just make sure it is always the same) you find him he is under attack by a dragon and easily killed. The dragon gives you an offer of, "Find the Hunters" as well, but with a request of killing them since they are hunting the Dragons.

Right now, both the Dragons as Hunters are neutral to you, until you attack one which will result in that one of those will get hostile and the other allies.
If you decided to take the Dragons as ally, you will have to kill the Hunters while several dragons (you are able to save on the way) will follow you seeing as you are unable to kill one of the Hunters by yourself - also remember that one hunter is already dead.
If you manage to kill all Hunters the Mother Dragon will thank and reward you with some of the gold from her stash.
If you do it the opposite and choose the Hunters as allies, you will only have to find them and bring them to their boss. If you bring them to their boss, they will reward you with a small portion of gold which is not even close to the amount of gold you get from the Dragon.

Hunters Quest

If you've chosen the Hunters as allies and brought back the Hunters back to their boss, they are willing to give you an other quest. Finding a special powder for their guns that is extra affective to Dragons. Unfortunately, the powder is no where to be found in the area, and the Hunters can't leave. They ask you to find it.

Merely a searching quest which is not too hard, nor is the reward. The reward is a simple bit of gold which is still not close to the amount of the Dragon but that's it.

Dragons Quest

If you've chosen the Dragons as allies and killed all Hunters and report back to the mother, she is willing to give you yet an other quest. Finding a special powder for the guns which is extra affective to Dragons. Fortunately the powder is no where close to be found in the area and only a small amount of Hunters are sent to find it. She asks you to find it, and destroy it.

Merely a searching quest which is not too hard, nor is the reward. You will find several hunters on the way, but they aren't half as tough as the previous fought Hunters. The reward is a small magical item which isn't worth much, nor is it very useful.

Hunters Decision

After finally bringing back the powder that they need, they are willing to give their very last quest. Killing the mother dragon! Definitely, the strongest of them all, but they won't let you go alone. They will sent 3 of the strongest Hunters (those you saved) with you to go into battle, they will also give several useful items that are necessary to damage the Dragon. They also block the exit so you can't leave.

The mother Dragon is furious for killing most of her children and is extremely strong and will look undefeatable at the start, especially with her strength, but there are multiple ways to defeat her. While going through the cliffs around her, you can push boulders down at the point she is located.
IF you manage to push all boulders down, you will automaticly be transported at the entrace where the mother ALONE will arrive, badly injured. The fight is a LOT easier that way, seeing as she is already badly damaged and is a lot easier defeated. If you kill her this way and bring the head back to the 'boss' you will be rewarded with a large amount of gold which is still not much compared to the one of the dragon at the start and you'll get a valuable magical item.

If you kill her without blowing the entrace up, you are able to have access to her lair and take everything you like - which is a load of gold. You will also find a dragon egg that can be brood to get a dragon whelp which I will get back to later.

The Dragon's Decision

The quest is mostly the same and the Dragon tells you to kill the boss. But while the boss isn't all that strong, he has a lot of hunters guarding him, making it hard to damage or even find him. The Dragons that will go with you, will be useful though.

Also here is an easier way to defeat him. By blowing up his Blacksmith, he will get furious seeing as it will kill a large amount of his Hunters, but even though there will be less Hunters, the remaining ones become Elite, like the ones you had to save. The battle won't become much easier because of that in general.

If you manage to win and bring the head back to the Mother Dragon, she will give you access once again for one single item, or box of gold in her stash. After that, she will break down her entrace of her lair, and leave.

If you don't blow his Blacksmith up, you are able to take the powder that you can sell for a reasonable amount of gold or use it to create weapons later on. A little gold can be found in it as well, but nothing worth mentioning.

Dragon Egg

If you manage to find the Dragon egg, you will eventually be approached by a person that asks if he can buy the Dragon Egg in exchange for a valuable Dragon Shield.

The exchange is fair and the Shield is quite useful, regardless, if you manage to hatch the egg, you will get a nice Dragon Whelp partner which is a nice addition to battle with his own amount of abilities that can be pretty dangerous to any enemies.

NOTE: Be careful not to damage the egg though. If your health drops below 15%, the egg will be damaged and both the buyer won't arrive as will the egg not hatch.

Revenge

If you killed the 'boss' you will eventually meet a man that seemed to have a relationship with the 'boss' and will try and hunt you down. Fortunately, he is alone but in the opposite of the Hunter, he is extremely dangerous with his abilities that are more than affective at melee range. If you manage to stay at a distance, than you can win.

If you manage to retreat back to the Dragon Cavern you will find several Dragons that are very willing to help you defeat him.
IF you defeat him, he WON'T drop anything, but the experience is more than enough to be satisfied.

Dragon Fury

If you killed the Dragon, hatched the egg, and declined the offer to sell it, you will eventually be approached by a robbed man that will take you to the Dragon Cavern where several Dragons are waiting.

After a nice conversation, they will become hostile to you and are mostly aiming at the Dragon Whelp.
There is no easier way to defeat them, but you can run as much as you want.

If you manage to kill them, the man will mention with his last words that you will be hunted as long as you carry a Dragon Whelp with you.

How are those as quests? :P
