making the inside of doodads

Does anyone know how to make a doodad thats over other doodads disapeer when you go into an area so it looks like your inside that doodad?

make the doodad destructible and when you enter that certain region use hide destructible.

There's a good tutorial for this here. Unfortunately, it no longer has any pictures, but it still gives you some basic triggers on how to do this.
