I know i seen a tutoral on how to do this but I cant find it any where. How do I chop a custom model so i can get a layout for the skin? If you dont know what I mean ill explain. I want to know how i can "flaten" a model so i get a 2d image of it to make the skin, just like blizzerd does for its models. For example; If it had a house model, how would I make it so all the walls and roof are all in the same plan with out being warped out of shape. Once i have that, how would I comvert it into a skin layout? |

okay #1 which programs do you have, are you a skinner modder or both? let's say you have milkshape, first DL lithunwrap (google it , it's free) then import you milkshape model, then start screwing around just learning from mistakes, if you have gmax wtry importing the 3ds model :), i can't help you much right now, maybe someone else will give a more detailed explanation |

I use Gmax. I made a simple model with a few simple animation and a simple skin, so im both. I learned by messing around with and finding tutorals on the net. I found this "Unwarp UVW" that lets me change the texture thats applied to a model. but there all linked together. So if i move one it messe the other 3 round it up. Can I cut the vertetcs so a plain is by it self? |
