Why don't you start the respective games and time them for yourself? I'm almost certain the time in Warcraft 3 is in seconds, but I have no idea about Warcraft 2. It is entirely possible that similar units have different build times between the two games. |

Wc3 is in seconds. Wc2... not sure. If it doesn't seem like seconds, it's probobly ticks, or game time. |

I researched this a while ago, recreated the Wc2 combat engine completely in GUI triggers (leak tastic). Basically Wc2 time is measured in cycles. http://www.gamespot.com/features/wc2/clock.html This old article should tell you everything you need to know about wc2's strange engine. Combat was especially complex, fun time triggering that was. |

If you mean my triggers, than no. They were more an experiement than a practical map. Because of the way damage is calculated in wc2 it meant i had to actually trigger EVERY attack and use triggers to deal damage etc. Wc2 has really fast attack speeds for many things awell so i doubt it would be anything more than a lag fest in most cases online. Im relativly sure that triggers are the only way to do it aswell, although i did consider a complicated system using +dmg item abilities and Damage reduction abilities i deciced i still wouldnt be able to seamlessly create a system that entirly mimics WC2's engine. Ya best bet would be to try an lure a jass guru into triggering up a system in JASS, it would probably be more efficient. That article i linked you to contains a very good breaksown of WC2's combat engine, useful as it truely was a convuluted system. |
