Ok, I have been working for a week now about this campaign. But, I have been running our of ideas for the battles so I need some comments and suggestions on how to improve the battle scenes. Megaman Legends is an FPS campaign took from the original PS1 game by Capcom. You control Megaman by arrow keys, make him attack using the mouse, solve dungeon puzzles, explore and embark on a journey on an island full of talkative people, and most of all, fight and destroy intelligent robots and gigantic bosses. INCLUDES: Fully Intelligent randomized AI that will make you think what it will do next. A well done terrain for your viewing purposes. (I know this map's terrain is not that good, but I'll be changing this ASAP.) Mana is Megaman's Energy. When you walk too long without taking a break, he will suddenly stop and waits some time to regain his energy back. Almost all attacks can be dodged so that it adds some strategic point in game. The screenshots will come some moments later. Please wait while I process them. That's all for now since this is only a demo. Feedback needed. Thanks. ![]() EDIT: Sorry for those who d-led it a while ago, because there had been a bug. But I fixed it now anyway. |

As usual, terrain is excellent, everything else perhaps not so. There are a lot of small issues here and there that possibly will ruin the entire experience of playing this. First and foremost, the camera. This one is just... bad. It frequently decides to go behind a wall, a gate, a statue, practically anything. Like I said, this is really really a small issue, nothing to worry about, perhaps make the camera higher or closer to megaman (possibly wider corridors with one blocker before the wall itself so the camera doesn't go there), and the few camera problems won't really be very bothersome. I understand movement isn't completed yet, but I think the control scheme in general might need some help. One specific contention I have is with the attacking system. Click once, and no matter where the bot moves, megaman attacks and always hits, eek, and continues attacking too, which makes combat so far rather boring. Point and click and watch megaman do the rest. Ack. And the servbot just doesn't.... work right? I dunno. And then there's the problem about random puzzles... eek. Personally I don't find it fun to do a puzzle which I don't even know exists... the "press the switches you don't know exist in order" thing is easy to figure out I guess, but really is a bit pointless. Just me, but I don't like puzzles like this -.- Also, just some questions about the whole game. Is this supposed to be along the lines of action or RPG? If it's along the lines of action then the controls are off, and perhaps megaman shouldn't just directly hit. If it's along the lines of RPG, then it's somewhat action-rpgish (like secret of mana), then perhaps movement should be done using mouse (or better keyboard movement) other than in battle (perhaps megaman targets one person, like and RPG, and everything else is done, the only thing you have to worry about is dodge... I dunno. Eek. That's a lot of not very positive things :( The map is beautiful, I would love to have it been mine, but gameplay wise it feels like it was somewhat untested. Of course, one map alone isn't enough for me to comment on other things, so I just comment on the gameplay in general. |

hehe... i knew i had a big problem on gameplay. ![]() anyway, thanks i'll be working on the camera. about the attack you said... hmm... will i make megaman's attacks dodgeable? i mean an artillery type? and will i make his attacks... click enemy - attack once (instead of attacking continously)? and yes, i have some little problem on AI thing... it's because i used for every (insert # here) seconds and when you're near them, that's the only time they'll do some attacks. heh. ehh... and the puzzles i made are not random. they're just there to make things much more complicated. :D anyway... uh. what puzzles do you wish me to add? or remove? this will be action rpg indeed. but uhh.. would i remove the third person camera and make mouse movements instead? ehh... that'll ruin my point. :D thanks for the comment. but uhh... i need some explanations on some. can't think of anything better to do to those. *sigh* |
