... okay, I'll shut the f*ck up, that's nice. Common sense was appropriate, because you don't have to know anything about warcraft3 triggers to know your trigger didn't make sense. All a trigger is, is telling wc3 to do something: which, you said - you wanted a unit to enter a region with a key and have a gate open - you said "a unit enters camera bounds (the entire map), and key1=key1 (like saying 1 = 1), open gate"... how does that even remotely make sense... in english? Especially after you said you created a special region for your gate... the conditions part is under boolean, hero has itemtype housekey = true. |

If I was a moderator, I would tell you both to calm down, and that would be it- But I'm not, so, eclipse, go and look through some tutorials in the tutorial section and try not to flame anyone who helps you... thats like biting the hand that feeds you. |

event: unit enters (region 001) conditions: (boolean) (entering unit) has item of type (house key 1) actions: destructable - open (gate 001) Note, what you triggered is logically equivilent to the sentence " when a unit enters the area that bounds your camera, and if a house key is itself, then open nothing (since a picked destructible doesn't exist until you 'pick a destructable' " |

Okay, listen... both of you where wrong. NoStem, you shouldn't have said "Use your common sense", the guy is new and obviuosly is confused about the triggers. Think about when you JUST got warcraft 3 can you couldn't wait to dig into the triggers, and then you find out there very complicated and confussing. We where all there, so before you say something rude again, think about when you where there. And eclipse101 there was no point in saying "STFU", thats like adding fuel to the flame. You could have pointed out that the triggers where confussing for you, and you would like a little more depth. johnfn you where right, but you took one side to the story... eclipse101 the trigger Raptor-- gave you was right. If you cannot find the triggers, I or any other of the people here would be glad to find them for you. ~Azhag~ |

Which is exactly the same trigger I gave him... and using your common sense isn't an insult - he SAID the exact trigger he wanted in his question, yet said something entirely different in his trigger, and didn't even include the region he said he made, so he obviously had enough intelligence to realize his trigger made no sense. |

But have you thought that maybe other people arn't as "smart" as you when it comes to the world editor.... just give him a break... and saying "use your common sense" is a insult the way you put it. When I read it, I got the impression that you where calling him an idiot. I don't mean to bitch or anything like that, I just don't like to see people who are skilled at the WE "insult" people who arn't. This my final post about the matter. ~Azhag~ |
