Hi this is my first post in thie music section, im active in the concept art section now for a while, posted my first contacs with gMaqx in the modeling forum, and what is mising? the music forum... im playing guitar for 3? maybe 4 years now and a while ago i recorded somethin for you. it seems the board is not too active, so maybe it will take ahile, until someone answers, but nevermind... i recorded a background music without great action, and it sounds a little bit like spanish. it took me about 20 min to finish it, so u see its very bad arranged, i didnt think about what chords i gonna play next, and thats the result: THE FILE IS ABOUT 400kb and 2 min+ long www.punkpalast.de/toll.mp3 thats the place where to find it. those who come from german are invited to enter my site www.punkpalast.de ( but that dont belong to this place ^^)... Now your part: Please give feedback how u think about the music, and have in mind that i didnt give much work on it, so i could do much better... if u want to use it on your map or campaign please let me know first, u can write a email to [email protected] or send a PM on this board.l i maybe can record somethin like this (so i mean guitarsounds+congadrums+bass) if u ask me and if i have time and motivation to do it ... good night... |

Guest | The djembe or whatever you are using is too bad played IMO, too asynchronous. The guitar is not bad, but you really need to make a better recording cause it sounds bad. I guess you recorded this playing together; you should try recording djembe first, then guitar, then edit it all a little to sync everything and put some volume there on guitar, and lot more bass on the djembe. yeah i told, i did in 20 min... im alone so i HAVE to play it separated, but i gave 2 cables to a frined, and the one im using for the guitar is defect, and the caonga (so its called in german think its the same in english) is recorded with the mic of the headset, and i just played every line (guitar rythm, conga, guitar 2) just 1 time... i just wanted to see the result of this little ... whatever.. but cool that u like the guitar... |

yeah the guitar is nice, but the precussion should be cut or rehashed completely. |

Sorry if this is an old topic. My advice would be to scratch the percussion completely (it sounds like someone who doesn't have any idea what he's doing). Since you're using an electric guitar/bass, I would recommened taking your guitar cable and instead of plugging it into your amp, plug it directly into your computer (soundcard at the back). Since you must likely have a low end soundcard (nothing wrong with that), you might need to purchase a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter (I got one from Guitar Center). Record directly into your computer for better results, as that microphone seems to be picking up alot more noise than you playing. Oh well, that's just some recommendations for next time. |

While your talents are certainly there, you need more professional equipment to record the guitar and suchlike into a mixing studio or a sequencer program. While midi may sound crappy to some, this all depends on the use of it. Midi is just technology, how you use it and what samples you use is up to yourself and your skill with it. The overall quality needs to be much, much better. If you have the 2 minute mp3, the file size should at least me 2 mb to achieve decent quality. |

That's untrue. If he simply used a cable directly into the computer, and he downloaded the FL Studio 5 demo and an VST effect called Free Amp Sim SE, he could make pro recordings. That's all you need to record guitars. |

Ahem. But that IS a sort of a mixing studio duh. |

Hah, Yeah, you pretty much jsut discribed a mixing studio, I'm going to have to egt a good recording method for my guitar, guess i'll try what you suggested ;) Eh, no vocals needed, it's just background music to set the mood, vocals are optional, and depending on the style and use for the track, the vocals have to be perfectly planned. Damn, this has been my first post in forever, I'm starting to play WC3 again, I found my TFT CD cracked in a star shape, so I'm buying a new one tommorow, hopefully I'm back for longer than a few posts :) |
