OK i've seen this asked somewhere else on here but I can't remember where. How do I set my Custom Units level? I set it to 8 but it starts him at level 1 when I actually test the map. Secondly, how do I change the maximum level or mana? Please help!

Ok 1st off you can there are two ways of making him lvl.
1) DOuble click on the unit, then a screen should pop up and there are different options, one of them being "level."
2) Triggers.
Events
W/e you want, time, intial, ect.

Actions
Hero - Set (Triggering unit[you can change this]) Hero-level to 8, Hide level-up graphics

Health, mana:
1)Starting life/mana double click unit, a screen pops-up and select "100% out of XX"
2)Triggers :D:
Events
W/e you want
Actions
Unit - Set life of (Triggering unit) to (Life of (Triggering unit))
Unit - Set mana of (Triggering unit) to 0.00

Just edit the values

You mean ur heros level.

use action
Hero - Set Hero Level

Level u probrably changes was his level in object editor that just is used for amount of experience enemies get if they kill him.

Change max level in the gameplay constants from world edit - Advanced - Gameplay Constants

Change maximum mana on the units actual properties in the object editor under
stats - Mana Maximum

OK i've saerched for like 15 minutes and I can't find the Gameplay Constants anywhere. Ther is an Advanced option under the Tools but that only for modifying the terrain. Could you tell me where to clikc on and such? Thanks in advance.

That's wierd, it's supposed to be right there, the fourth option on the list. Do you have the most recent version of TFT?

At the top of the editor there are 10 options:
File, Edit, View, Layer, Scenario, Tools, Advanced, Module, Window, Help.

I think you mean that you went under the "tools" option (That's how I understand it) but you do not. You go under "Advanced"

Then you will get:
Modify Tileset
Random Groups
Item Tables
Gameplay Constants
Game Interface
--------------------------
(some more options)

Click 'Gameplay Constants' and it will make a screen pop up. Then there is a box that is unchecked, check it and you may edit the values. Press 'H' (hotkey) and it will bring you down to "Hero" then scroll down until you fins "Hero - Maximum Level = 10" You may change 10 to what ever.

I hope you can find it now.

Edit: OK there is my problem. I have RoC not TFT. I'm getting TFT in a few weeks. I don't have it cuz my frind is giving me RoC until he is done with TFT.

OK here the problem. There is no Advanced thing at the top of my screen. It's in the tools drop down box and there is no GamePlay constants in it. Only the follwoing.

Modify Tileset
Random Groups
Reset Hight Field
--------------------------
Reset Texture Variations
--------------------------
Enforce Water Height Limits

That's all I have. DO you think it's cuz I might have an earlier version?

Yes, of course. Gameplay constants were added with the frozen throne, as far as I rememeber, together with a bunch of other neat things like object editor and a bunch of trigger functions that all made making custom maps tremendously easier.

You can still edit it, however it requires extracting a text file from the .mpq. I'm lazy so you're on your own for getting the program to extract it, however there is a text file under the units directory called MiscData.txt. In that file there is a section for hero experience and levelling or more specifically it says // Experience & Level Information

Directly under that is the option for max hero level. Just change that to the desired number and you're set. Actually I'll just attach the text file now.
