Guest | I present my optimization tool. Tool can optimize loading time for map, which contains too much trigger's strings. You may patch the Warcraft III map in whole as well as unpacked files in Custom Folder. Manual: 1. Select type of source: Warcraft III Map or Custom Folder 2.1. Warcraft III Map Selected 2.1.1. Select Source map to patch. The tool analyse and inform you on an if opportunity patch of a map is not avialable. 2.1.2. Select Target - filename to save patched map. Warring: if filename in editbox not exist the tool will ask you later to save changes to Source map. But the tool will not ask if you select not existing filename via SaveDialog, and save changes in selected target filename. 3.1 Custom Folder Selected 3.1.1 Select Custom Folder which contains map's files. The tool analyse and inform you on an if opportunity patch of a map is not avialable. 4. Press "Patch!" and look at Log. If Process finished without fail (in log) it mead that pathing has done successful. 5. Look map in Warcraft III. Enjoy! This program not complite finished, but full useable. The new version will soon. It'll conatains: 1. Rework patching code to fast patching the map (now it not good optimized). 2. Add credits 3. Add expert mode. Also offers on interface and expert mode are accepted. Thank you. True Rus. P.S. best see in WinXP |

I'm going to see if this tool works with wc3 optimizer. Edit: It works with vexorian's wc3 optimizer. I can't tell exactly how much this tool saves in loading time, but I will use it for now. |

i tried this optimization but it doesnt reduce much loading time of the map .. only reduced 10 - 15 secs ... anyway, what else i can do to reduce loading time ? |

Use SLK files for the best loading time. |

If it only saved 10 seconds, it would mean that his map doesn't have that much object data, so using SLKs would probably just increase his map's size instead of reducing the loading time |

True, but SLK is better for more reasons than just load time. |

i've looked your map JDay184B2 ( think it's your). I think cause of long loading time in inludes (about 100 files). Try rebuild map without includes and compare loading time. BTW, I've looked SLK\TXT files in your map, Have you used some tool for it? |

Guest | escpy I think i was wrong about include. (it not so considerably) Ryude was right about select by tavern and select by wisp, in other topic. Have you noticed lag in DotA then hero was select? This lag happens for all hero during load your map. |

If you would like to look at my SLK files you may do so, they are optimized and probably would reduce your maps load time if you did the same to your SLK files. I use 336 abilities, total SLK filesize = 216KB BTW, I edit Reign of Chaos DotA. @Lord Vexorian: SLK gives you more options for editing spells. For instance, you can use all models for spells in SLK whereas in object you cannot. |
