well guys, i havent posted here in a looong time. in order to pursue my dream of being a concept artist and illustrator for movies and games, i started taking private art lesson from an amazing painter here in bryan, texas. we have been working on drawing, moved to painting with acrylics, and now i am learning how to use oils. i have learned an amazing amount from her, and my artwork has improved amazingly. Unfortunetly, i only have 2 pics in acrylic. I did the things she tought me in these, but they are by no means perfect. And, compared to what i expect my artwork to look like in 5 years, these are aweful.

Good work. I really like the second one, it's very expressive... and the sahding is great.
The first one seems a bit...empty, since you can see only a chest. And I think it's too... gray, pale...

wow man.... very impressive how much you have improved. I really like the second picture. it looks like an actual photo.

im still only 17, and not sure what im going to do in the future, but i WANT to do something that involves art... Not necessarily a full blown starving artist in Louisiana who paints all day on the streets and sells art to tourists... but nevertheless, something w/ art. and this concept artist for movies and games sounds very interesting. what does that involve???

Post more of your art man... very inspiring. how old are you? 16-17-ish????

hey guys. Concept art for games requires: a portfolio that is so amazing they have to hire you, or an excellent portfolio with skills in (insert complicated computer skill here, like modeling or particle programming) movies: more toward the excellent portfolio range, it gets more complicated. whether the special effects company has their own concept artists or they put together a team for the production. i am 16.

If you are 16, you're really very good.

I quite like the first one, actually being my favorite of the two. I like the colors you used for both these pieces, but in the second one, his right eye is higher then the other eye.

...that's only the perspective. The eyes are correctly placed.

No Storm, he's right: look at the mouth, and then draw an imaginary line between the two eyes, you'll see there is indeed a problem. It's like if he was painting a live model, and at first he drew the lower part of the face, then the model shifted slightly his head on the left and then he drew the upper part of the face. Besides, the two eyes aren't perfectly focused.
But still, this work is great and promising.
