Hello I want to make a frost strike, based on flame strike. When casted, the units in the target area will be freezed, and wont be able to move for 2 seconds. How do i do this? |

Since you are looking at a frost spell, why dont you just base it off of frost nova without a target? Then you can set the buffs to a customized ensnare that will only last for 2 seconds, and doesnt have any art. You might want to change some other things, like the damage amount and cooldown, but that should be the general idea of it. |

One way would be to base the spell on inferno, that way you get the stun and at the same time a summoned unit that you can just make invisible and unmovable and give it a modified permanent immolation that will do the damage over time. However, doing things in such a simple way, it will freeze only all the initial units in range, but any targets that come in range later will only take damage and will not be frozen... however, this way doesn't even require triggers. |

Couldn't you also use a modified Tornado Slow aura to freeze units that come late? |

You could, but it doesn't freeze, it just slows. Unless that is what you want, then make sure inferno spell doesn't stun the enemies, set it's targets allowed to none. |

I thought if you put the slow factor to something really high it might look like it freezes them |

There is a limit to how much you can slow units down, by default, the minimum is 150 movement speed, it can be changed in gameplay constants, though. |
