War of the Roses

yah so I've got an idea about making a campaign. Haven't decided on a name yet but i need help with triggers and stuff,can anybody lend me some assistance?My idea includes like a love story in it,try to make a war,and skinned characters,but im not good at all of that lol. so yah

I predict Fladian is going to close this thread if you don't add some more information, that is no way to gather a team, tell what you can do, the story, characters, etc. Without those things the chances of anyone even bothering to view this thread is slim to none. Sorry.

lol sorry im little new to this. Ok i got some ideas for heroes. The main one is gonna be a young strong warrior. A skin would be awesome for him, i want him to be like battousai:P(lol jk)but attitude wise and fighting way like him would be neat. His best friend can probably be a dwarf,maybe a mountain king. The girl he falls in love with...a night elf,cuz i think thatd make a neat little turn of events. but anyways the storyline is back after arthas has become the lich king,like combined i mean. And so the main hero,Zero,is sent off to destroy some undead camps. But he'll encounter someone who'll become his arch foe...hmm..maybe an orc or undead,but they'll meet a couple of times and try to..well..kill each other. Later on i want his arch enemy to capture the guys "girlfriend" then he has to go rescue her:PThats where the war part will come in,He'll be traveling and he'll wind up meeting his old Trainer and has to go with him to fight off a battlion of undead forces allied with blackrock orcs. Does that help any?I havent thought it tottally way through,theres more changes that can be done but thats the most part of what i want to do.O yah i wanna give it some side quest to,so the storyline aint just going in a straight line,curve it some. Some of the other heros im thinking of could be jaina and malfurion and tyrande,having to meet them and helping them with some problems. Ill have to come up with a line of bad guys,but his arch foe i got some ideas for. If anyone can customize the skills thatd be neat:)so does anybody wanna help?

Let me get this straight. Metal, I only close threads right away when the idea is absolutely not original and virtually impossible (LotR) OR when a joker is making something like it - look at Jester or Wormskull as example.
Regarding new people and a not-good explained project, I usually only mention that they need to read the FAQ. If they don't change anything, I usually close it afterwards. This is... probably fine.

No problem. Just read the FAQ, if you still don't know anything, there are more than enough people who you can ask it to - even though an awfully lot of people seem to come to me :P

You might want to think out the story first - to the details. Saying things like, "Later on I want..." is not really giving a professional thought to me.
Not exactly original either, I was expecting something more original when I started reading.

Think it out first. Do that before anything else, I have no intention of seeing a half-assed campaign. Small changes can always be made throughout the development, but the main idea should be there before anything else.

People are taking that for granted. No one is expecting just one- long story line without side quests.

Right. Again I'll say, "think this out first" before anything else. People don't want to see someone starting a project that is still thinking about what he wants to make. Look at other threads, look at how they did it and how they explained it otherwise.

Fates of Arkidas as example, Arkidas started out as a bad story writer who got constant help from WorldWatcher and myself and got a fine storyline now. Anything similar may be done, if it becomes original enough and looks fun to me, then you have quite some chance that I'll perhaps sign up.

And above everything else. Think of a name for the project.

Everyone knows that I'm fond on dramatic and romantic stories. This wouldn't be an exception if it would be original.

the name of it is War of the roses....to hint a romance and a battle. I had typed up the whole hero list for this and the thing said i wasn't logged in when i was,so now i gotta do the whole darn thing over again,I'll do it when i get home though,cuz i got to go to school now

I don't really wanna know who are the heroes or their abilities - I'd rather find that out myself - but I want to know about the story and the improvements.

you still remember me, right? lol, now that i read it all, it sounds sorta like mario bro., a suggestion would to make it go away from that, and add something very unexpected, of course, the idea of what your doing is great, its just a couple of twists here and there would make it awsome.

GL, send me the map when u can and a description of what triggers/terrain you need, also, draw out the terrain or something too

lol i never thought of mario bros till u said that:Pdont wry its definitly not like it,i was just saying 2 of the main things that are gonna happen,i actually came up with something happening AFTER magnus's rival gets supposedly defeated,i've been brainstorming and ive come up with something people will never suspect:)right now im having plastic angel do the terrain,i think,he should be sending me the map back after hes done with it then we can put the heroes on,probably magnus and a few others and do the triggers.I gotta get with my storywriter(s) and come up with some more twists like u said also.

About the cinematics I can get started whenever you're ready cos I have the rest of today and the weekend off ^_^ So we'll meet on BNet sometime?

OK I remade my East account 'Lockie' (I changed to West a little while ago as theres more Australians) and added you to friends, but you might aswell email me the map (or I can make the cinematic on a seperate map as a prelude to the first level) aswell as the dialogue, scenes etc. to [email protected] (it has loads more room) :)
