Can I make something summoned on the fly?

I'm using the action

Unit - Creat

to make a special unit on my map. I'd like for that unit to be summoned so that it disappears in a short time. Any way to pull this off?

I believe if you know custom text, then there is a function (UnitAddTimedLife or something?) that makes a unit into a summoned unit... I don't know custom text triggering that well, so I can't tell you for sure though.

Doing that causes the unit to actually count as a summoned unit however, so if you don't want it to be an actual summoned unit, and just want it to dissappear after a given time, then just save the unit to a variable, start a timer when you create the unit, and when the timer expires, remove the unit.

Anybody else have any ideas? I don't want to do the variable-timer thing.

screw it. I'm gonna go get a Wendy's Hamburger and then just write this the way I know how.

I hate doing things the ungroovy way.

Well, the only one to save you is the REAL SUPREME TRIGGER master - who is replying to you this moment.

Download UMSWE in the wc3campaigns.com tool downloads section!

This useful tool will enhance the WorldEditor AND give you additional triggers also including a handy one called Unit - Apply Life Timer

This way you can create units and apply the summoning time with no problem! AND they can be just like spells. Hope that solved your problem!

And also - EVERYTHING is possible with the Worldeditor

Btw, also get the spell editor in a link that I can't remember which I'm sure daishi_of_death will help you with.

Next question?!?

If you didnt get it to work yet, try this:

Go into unit editor, then find the unit that is gonna be summonable, and I think above were you edit there stast ( strength and stuff ), and below were you change the size... it shows something were you click on and it shows, stuff like this

Worker
Mechanical
Summonable

And stuff like that just select summonabel
