Scroll down to the bottom to see available positions and information on them if you don't want to read the storyline. UPDATES Models/Skins Completed- Chick Milk Bottle 5 Fruit Crates Chicken Egg Sheep Wool Before I get into the story, for those of you wwho are wondering chao Raising is ON HOLD. It may or may not be completeted, but as of now, this is my newest project. Here is the story: You awake one morning to find your father dead in his covers. Apparently the sickness that plagued him finally got the best of him. Your father was well-known as a hard working man who never refused a challenge. You were shocked when you learned of this mysterious illness, the village pharmacist predicted that he would die a slow death, but your father was doing very well until now. With your mother gone years past, the only one to support your ailing father was you. You feel that his death was your fault, and that you must follow in his footsteps and become what he dreamed to be: A Master Farmer. Upon reading his will, you see that he left everything to you, the farmland, the livestock, and the crops. Most of which has begun to die off as a result of the lack of work and effort put into supporting it. With destiny chosen, the first thing you must do is revive the farm. You can't afford to lose the few livestock and crops that you own. Once you have fields clear and the animals fed, you can begin the more serious work required on the farm. Purchase some new farm animals once you have built up your economy to a suitable level. Livestock will be the mainstray of your farm, a quick and cheap way to earn some money, but you must be sure that they are properly cared for, or they wil produce lower quality products. Vegetables are a different story, they take time to grow, but they require less attention. Water your crops every few days to make sure they don't die off, and harvest them before they spoil. When you begin your career as a farmer, you will (roughly) have these livestock and crops available to you. Cow-1 Chickens-2 Sheepdog-1 Tomatos- 4 Carrots- 4 Snow Peas- 2 Here is the current list of all livestock available to you (will be updated regularly) Cows- Produces Milk and Beef Poultry (Chicken)- Produces Eggs and Chicken (meat) Goats- Produces Goat Milk Sheeps- Produces Wool and Lamb (meat) Horse- Can be riden and/or raced depending on how they are bred. Sheepdog- Herds livestock/chases away intruders Rabbits- Can be sold once they have been raised Pigs- Produce Pork I won't name vegetables off since they're are enough, we won't have too much trouble thinking of those :) Some interesting features I hope to include will be: A special energy system that requires your farmers to rest when they run out of mana, otherwise they will move around slowly and be a lot less of a help. -Dynamic weather system that allows random meteorogical miracles to happen, such as hailstorms, thunder showers, or even a perfectly sunny day :D -Special Day/Night cycle, game time will be considerably slower, allowing events to happen in the morning, day, afternoon, dusk, night, etc. -Special inventory system that allows you to carry 2 farming tools with you at all times, all you will need to do is click the slot you want, and you will be able to select a tool that you have purchased -Animals will grow over time, you will need to care for them properly or they won't mature properly, and they will produce poor quality products -Special Market system, you will be able to drop your produce off at the Food Storage Building, and the next day it will be sold. - Advanced Recipe System that allows you to create special recipes that you can find and purchase, you will also be able to create dairy products from milk, flour into wheat, etc. And finally, I thak you for taking the time to read and learn about this new map, post any ideas or comments, and don't hesitate to ask any questions you have regarding the project. I will be doing terrain, object editing, some mdl editing, and a bit of skinning if I really need too. What I'm looking for mainly are: Icon Artist, someone who would be will to do some icons for vegetables and animals most likely Triggerer, the more the better! Be prepared for some unique challenges, such as an inventory system, a weather system, a growth system for livestock, and of course the main game functions Modeler, It would be really nice to get one of these, so if you want to join up you would most likely be doing some simple modle edits, small model jobs, probably no scratch modeling :) Skinner, you would most likely be doing some skins for the models, livestock most likely, maybe the main character. And most of all, people who are good at finding ideas! No need to commit yourself, just post any inovations or ideas you have. THE TEAM Metal_Sonic64- Leader, Terrainer, MDL Editor, Basic Triggers Logik- Triggerer Lord Carbo- Trigggers, Concept Design Sweet5- Triggers That should sum it up quite nicely. Thanks for your time, cheers. ~MS |

0.o It's that good? Cool :) Yea, right now models aren't my priority though, I'm doing the different areas of the farm. When you enter the building, it will become transparent so you can see what you are doing, I've already got this woeking with the Barn, I'm going to work on the Chicken Coop next. I'l post a list of buildings in a few minutes. |

This kind of reminds me of 'Harvest Moon'. I remember how I would undergo rage fits because my cow hated me :). Anyways... One nice feature would be illnesses that would affect the farm animals, causing them to produce less, or produce bad products (Another nice feature would be the ability to be charged a penalty from the county if you put the products of sick animals for sale). Another nice feature would be that the magnitude of the attacks on your farm would grow as your farm increased in size. For example, at the start, only foxes would occasionaly come around to eat your chickens. As your farm grew larger, wolves would begin appearing, and eventually thieves as well. I'll think of some more ideas and post them here. Anyways, GL with your project. |

i am definatly in, i wouldnt offer if i wasnt... i am a considerably good triggerer, and in theory i could possibly come up with some/most of those systems. with rabits, you should be able to eat them etc. the thing with rabits is, they will breed really quickly... and if left un-touched they will grow out of control and take up your food limit (just an example here), thus making you unable to raise any other animals due to over population... so you will have to either kill them off or chase them down to sell or eat... coz they run away from you. in the thread before, it was saying lower the PvP and add more of a relaxed atmosphere... i think this is a really good concept, but also add a little competion... allow your farmers to attack animals, ie. to put them out of their misery or to stop over population (in the case of rabits and chickens) i also think you should start off with just your self... and maybe a pet of choice (like in harvest moon) where they have certain good points and bad points. another thing, maybe only have a very small story line to keep the game as open-ended and role playing as possible... another big big big, thing we need to sort out. Multiplayer Vs Single Player |

It is getting quite noticeable to me. When a decent idea is posted, immediately several people (like Hacken Hacker) come out of their shell and start shouting, "omg, thta is such a god idea!!11". Especially lately such things seem to appear, I wonder what happened, especially since most recent projects aren't that good or am I just comparing it to the history? The idea sounds nice. It's yet another idea that is typical my taste, like Chao Rising was. Regardless, an ambitious project, similar to this, was created some time ago, and died out, badly. Seeing that you work on several projects already, I have yet to see if you can manage to keep this up. Personally I hope so, since like I said, it is a project of my taste, but there are multiple ways to mess this up. But like Decadence once said, "You can have brilliant ideas, but can you make them?" I'll be waiting to see that. Good luck, I guess... I'll be keeping my eye on this, like usual. -Fladian |

Same opinion here, Hack. Personally, I am not fond on, only-action projects, but since a large amount do, I usually keep quiet about that. Regardless, I can't say how it will end up... we'll see it eventually. Hack. you got quite a big signature there ;) -Fladian |

Metal i hope you are going to make a multiplayer map or this will become boring in a few days of playing! You can get some wow icons from those 2 links. There are many food, herbs and miscellaneous items. http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Ic...0Entertainment http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Icons&Authors=Ice |

Just got back from school. I tried to check the thread there but the teacher chased me away :P Anyways, right now I'm working on the pasture, where your animals go when you let them out into the field. They can graze here too to fatten up. (Maybe) Another issue, multiplayer or single player... For now, I'm designing it as a single player. It will be easier to design the layout of the famr and make everything in single player, so triggers won't be as hard. I'l do up a few more buidlings, then I'l post some screenshots of the layout. |
