The Fallen Rise Prologue: The land of Zantos was peaceful for many years. This land inhabited fifty percent of the world's population. Among this population lived the Orcs, Humans, and Night Elf's. War was a common thing among these races, and thus many were killed. These slain units then go to the underworld, where they are burned and tortured until they gave into the hate, and become the new race to enslave the world above, the Undead. After hundreds of years of war, the underworld decided that it was time to take over the upper world. Using the endless Undead created by the killed units from the upper world they rose from the ground. This is where our story begins. Chapter 1 The Rise of the Villager Doing today's crop harvest was harder then normal. I had a family to feed, and part of my harvest went to feed the growing armies of the Humans. My wife's name was Melinna, and my sons name was Danthus. He was turning five in three weeks tomorrow. The villagers call me The Witch Hunter, because they believe that I ward off evil spirits. My real name is Athen. My wife described my features as being a golden haired, rugged, kind man. She then proceeded to talk about the medium build I had, that always embarrassed me. I had just brought in the days worth of crops, when Melinna came out of our house, a standard village house, and into the fields. It was a beautiful day, sun bathing on my back, the birds chirping to make my work easier. I had a basket on my back which I used to store all the crops. She came up to me and said. “Athen, sweetie, I need you to come into the house for a minute. “Why, I asked. “There is a man at the front who wants to speak with you. “What does he want to speak with me about? “I don't know, please don't keep him waiting. I placed the basket on the ground, and started my way into the house. I had many different crops: Wheat, tomatoes, corn, carrots, and apples. I stepped into my house, and found it hard to see right, things seemed to be dark and my eyes took a bit of time to get used to it. Finally I was in the front, and a man wearing full plate mail was waiting to speak with me. I wondered how hot it must have been underneath all the metal. “Hello, my name is Turios and I have been sent by the superiors of Mithral Hall to speak to you about a crisis that has come to be. “What is the crisis? I asked. “Well they were sketchy on the details, but they said they needed to round up as many villagers capable of fighting as possible. Turios said in a rather smooth, professional way. “I heard from other villagers that you were the most gifted of all… why is that? “The other villagers believe I ward off evil spirits. I replied. I lend over and put my hand up to my mouth as if I wanted to whisper him something. “I do no such thing, but I don't have the heart to tell the other villagers that. He nodded in approval. “Well none the less, I am going to have to take you to my superiors. “How far away are they? “About a day walk from here. Since we will be riding a steed, it will take several hours. He said, as he pointed to the warhorse near the entrance of the village. The animal was beautiful. It had full armor on its back, and had white, with blue horizontal strips cloth underneath the metal. The warhorse itself was an image of beauty. The hair on the horse's neck was perfectly combed and the horse looked as if it was cleaned daily. This horse was probably treated better then most men. That was the horse I was going to own one day, I thought to myself. “Alright, just let me tell my family, and say my goodbyes. Turios nodded in approval once again. I walked back to my house and to my family. I had thoughts of what might happen while I was away, but I shrugged them off, and proceeded to tell my family of the current events that have just unfolded. I walked back to Turios, and said “Let's be going. He took of his helmet and looked at me. He had the stare to scare any opponent. His left eye was green, but for some reason his right eye was red, and had the look of fire and intensity. He looked to be a mighty fighter. He waved his hand to signal for me to follow him. We walked to the warhorse which he rode on. “Hop on. He said firmly. He got on before me, and I climb the creature until I was firmly in place behind Turios. “She is quick, so hold on to me. I grabbed around his waist, and we shot off. The area around the village was like a forest. Lots of trees filled the area, and many paths were made from distant travelers wanting shelter. We rode west. The forest was damp and wet, as if it had just rained. I could hear the calls of animals around me, but barely over the clap of the horse's feet hitting the ground. Turios was right, the horse was quick, and I really had to hold on. We rode west for many hours… More will come. Enjoy. ~Azhag~ |

It sounds interesting, though I would have been interested in more background information about the man named Athen. There's a little shortage of background information of him, except if that was the full purpose. Don't forget to describe Turios. |

Chapter 2 The Journey to Mithral Hall Several years ago I was a lost traveler, wandering forever, or so it seemed, for something I didn't know. I traveled from city to city, town to town, and couldn't find what I was looking for. Then one day I came upon the town called Silver Region. Here I had decided to stop my travels for sometime. One day while drinking in a tavern, I met a woman named Melinna. She was beautiful. Her golden straight hair touched her shoulders, and she had a smile to lighten up any room. She had just entered the tavern, and our eyes met. I knew she was the one for me. She looked at me shyly, and sat across the tavern from me. Our eyes kept meeting, and finally I worked up the courage to walk to her table. When I walked over to her table, she looked at me and instantly smiled. I then responded to her smile by saying “I haven't seen you in town before. My names Athen, what is yours? “Melinna “Can I sit with you? “Sure... I haven't seen you before either. She smiled once again. She was so beautiful I thought. “That is because I have been wandering most of my life. I finally settled here I said in response. “I have lived here all my life. This town is my birth place, and I want to spend the rest of my life here. She looked me straight in the eye, as if she was trying to tell me something she didn't want to say. “I am happy for you. I smiled back at her this time, and she blushed. Time went on. I kept seeing Melinna, and our love grew. One day, about a year after I met her, I asked her to marry me. That was the happiest day of my life. Ten months later she then gave birth to our child Danthus. I found what I was looking for, in all my time of traveling. Suddenly one day, Silver Region was attacked by a strange creature. It seemed to be part alive, and part dead. It was bigger then an Ogre Lord, and just as strong. I had grown to love Silver Region, so I sought out to fight the beast. I had used the many years of training with my sword to fight it off. The creature was like a zombie, but not as dumb. It was a humanoid, and its flesh was rotten. The trees and plants around the creature seemed to decompose, and rot. I took up my sword, and reassured my wife that I would return. I took off, running as fast as I could, with the clouds spitting rain on my back. The creature was easy to find, I just had to follow the rotten trail. I ran with intensity and desire to save the village that the creature was about to harm. I could tell it was moving closer to Silver Region, because of the trail it had left. I finally met the creature. I was sneaking up upon the creature. Closer and closer I moved, being aware of the sounds I made. I unsheathed my sword, and continued to move. Finally I was within striking distance, but the creature spun around and punched me in the face. I fell to the ground with sword in hand. The creature smell was repulsive. It hovered over me about to strike again, when I took my sword and pierced its stomach. This attack seemed to do nothing to the creature, and it punched me once again. I could feel the blood spilling out of my nose and mouth. I didn't like the taste of blood. I pulled the sword out of the creatures' stomach and kicked it, which made it stumble backwards. This gave me the chance to stand up. We were both ready to kill each other, when it swung again. I evaded the strike and swung my sword, slashing the creature in the face. It fell backwards and landed on the ground. I took advantage of the situation, and jumped onto the creatures' stomach, sword ready to thrust into its face. It tried to shake me off, but I was too resilient. I then stabbed the creature in the face, killing it. I was injured and bleeding badly. Feeling weak I collapsed onto the forest floor. The villagers knew I did this, and from then on called me The Witch Hunter. Turios caught me day dreaming. He stopped and made sure I was in this world. “You okay? he said. “Yea, why? “You seem out of place right now. “I was just thinking of back in the day. I said embarrassed. “Ah well make sure you are in this world, we are almost at Mithral Hall. Wow the time went by fast I thought. Hopefully things will be more clear when we arrive. More will be posted later. Later on in the story, some people might notice a change in the view I am going to write the story. Do not worry, I have seen some writters do this to make the mood of the story better. ~Azhag~ |
