Guest | Sorry if this has already been asked but I could not find it via search. Is there any way to run 2 instances of world editor at the same time? |

No, that's not possible. But in one instance of the WE you can still open several maps and switch between them via the Window menu. |

Guest | well wouldnt it be possible to write a program that patches the worldeditor.exe to allow multiple instances? I have seen this done to other applications, dont see why this would be any different? |

Maybe, but what would it be good for anyway? |

The program exists. It is named EWE(Esper's WE), which was written by Esper for 1.17. I compared the files and made a loader for 1.18 soon later. What does this program do? 1. It allows you to open multiple WE copie 2. It ignores all file missing errors on opening map which means you can open ANY PROTECTED maps now, but with no triggers in it(if protector removed the custom trigger file), or even no units placed on map(if protector also removed initial unit doodads data file). |

yep, World Editor use its own clipboard so that you cannot copy/paste resources between 2 World Editor instance. |

Hmmm, that could be useful indeed. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out where the clipboard is kept in memory with a memory searcher. Maybe I can put a small tool together that can handle copy and paste. |

Can't you just use the same editor window but with 2 maps opened? |

Map switching is slow for some huge maps(or on slow machines, :)) |

Close the Brush list window. Also, even with 2 instances of world edit, the switching would be as slow. |

I've looked into it but i'm sorry I couldn't find the exact position in memory. I found the area where it is but it's not saved as raw data and I couldn't identify the exact address. |
