Guest | Oh God! Not another Kodo Tag!! Well hopefully I can do this a bit differently... a bit more professionally... Hell, maybe it wont be so bad after all, but I would really like some help, ideas, and feedback for what I have already. :god_help_us: My newest project is Kodo Wars, a mix between the ever popular Kodo tag and Tower/Maul Wars. The idea is simple: 2 teams, each mine gold, create and defend their bases, and buy Kodos to release on the opposing team. Why buy Kodos to attack the opposing team? Because, silly, when Kodos kill units and buildings of the opposing team your team splits some loot from the kill. The game will contain basically the regular basics, walls/barricades to block off kodos, towers, melee and ranged units. The kodos, however, are going to see a bunch of new stuff. First off, I currently have 9 types: Kodo, Armored Kodo, Divine Kodo, Ghost Kodo, Nightmare Kodo, Invisible Kodo, Sick Kodo, Plauge Kodo, and Kodo Komander. All of these kodos can be purchaced by players on either team to unleash on another (they do not maintain control.) Kodo upgrades are also now available, including attack, defense, and speed. One side of the terrain is an exact mirror of the other to create any inbalance in teams. There are numerous problems, however, with Kodo tag and with this Kodo tag wars idea, some of which I have been able to somewhat overcome. First and foremost is balanced terrain, which can not be manipulated to create walls that confuse kodos into endless AI retardedness. Being a master of this, I have attempted to make a map that does its best at naturally eliminating this problem. I also have created kodos that can walk through trees and natural walls, creating a nice mix to the problem. Another apparent problem is that if teams are constantly mining for gold, and getting cash from their purchaced kodos killing the opposing teams, gold amounts are going to skyrocket and it will be relatively easy to tip the scales drastically and pull a very strong wing, however this is always a problem with these 'war' games. Well anyways, lemme know what you think of the map idea and please gimme feedback, ideas, and any concerns/problems you can think of. |
