i tested myself on how well i can make a skin as quickly as i could, took about 2 hours since the beard was a bit tedious and i decided to put some detail into the face. feedback apreciated. ![]() |

Guest | Oooo, nice, is that a dark iron dwarf? I like it, but there are two issues: -the color of the arms don't match with the face -what's that black thing on the shotgun? Overall is very impressive, and deserve a better model, cus the actual uvmap don't make it justice. |

Guest | And what if we brought back constructive criticism? 2 hours...euh.. are you new to skinning? Anyway, I find interesting the amount of time spent on a skin, I will implement the concept. To comment on your skin, its a an average start I guess, nothing that really rocks the boat in its very common design. First visible problems : colors. The arms arent the same green as face. The shading is differant from one moment to another. The feet look like a recolor. If the face was less sick looking and more like the arms green, the red with white blob look would semi work, but it isnt so it doesnt. Armor design is lacking in creativity. Research your design before starting. Oh and presentation you get 2/5, black background is so 2001, try something grey blue or dark orange brown, but black no, specially with your dark character, would it be to hide its errors? I wonder. Your picuture is about 50% too wide, too much repeated information, change positions sure, but when its worth it. Have you read some tutorials? |

I don't see any skull here. I'm referring to the central pictures, there's a black square that cover the beard. |

Guest | Sigh, did you read anything else? 2/5 on presentation. I know it must be hard to read more than the average one liners but still |

Guest | Never heard of you, how can I know if you're new or not, your style of skinning says youre new. Do not think of it as pawning someone dont be so narrow minded, its called constructive criticism. Its hard for you to swallow it, its understandable, you poor noobs having being going without proper guidance for so long now. |

yeah i'm reviving and old thread so blow me. it seems that your posts were deleted but now theyre back so it's time for me to respond. dont assume that i'm so narrow minded, i agreed with most of what you said about that skin (except for the fact that the boots were recolored). i however feel attacked from some of the other comments you said. you assumed that i was a noob to skinning based on, lets see here, a skin that i didnt take too much time on (considering the pace that i noramlly go through to get better results), plus it was a request so i didnt really have the motivation to make it my best work. i admit this is probably one of my lesser skins, so dont expect this to reflect my ability as a skinner. oh and the background is black because i like it, it doesnt really matter since the screenshot isnt going to affect it's look ingame. i doubt it can really hide most of the details since it doesnt affect the model itself, only the color around it. really, dont flatter yourself too much as to say your critism was perfect and shouldnt be questioned. usually constructive critism stops when you try to critisize the skinner and not just the skin. usually constructive critism points out things i could do to improve the skin rather than things i shouldnt do. so try pulling your head out of your ass for once. oh and good job for prejudgement, jackass. |

I find it funny how he insults and gives "crits" when he hasn't posted any skins. |
