Naval Commander is the current name for the map, but I don't really like it and it might change.

This map is about life on the sea. You can trade, catch fish, gather oil, be a pirate, hunt pirates, and a bunch of other stuff. I'll be posting my progress here. Right now I have made all of the trade ships and a starting ship. They also have all their abilities completed and everything about them works. I have also completed 70% of the terrain.

You can only command one ship at a time. When you buy a deed for a new ship, your current ship changes to the other and you keep your experience and items.

SHIPS COMPLETED
Small Ship: Starting ship.
Fishing Boat: Can catch fish to sell on the market (90 gold per fish).
Oil Tanker: Can gather barrels of oil to sell on the market (430 gold per barrel).
Trade Boat: Can use trading contracts. For example, if you have a contract for silver you can go to the refinery, pick up the silver, and bring it back to the port to sell it. It doesn't cost anything besides what the original contract cost.
Frigate: The first combat ship upgrade from your starting ship.
Cruiser: Fast combat ship with medium hitpoints.
Cruiser Class B: A slower, tougher version of the cruiser.
Destroyer: Slower than a cruiser but has more hitpoints.
Battleship: Very slow and big. Has a great hull.
Flying Machine: Not a ship. It's a flying machine that can't be attacked by some weapons.

SHIPS NOT COMPLETED
Pirate Ships: Need to make computer ships.

Features:
-You can mount guns on your ship, so they don't originally come with one (although you get a starting gun).
-Many abilities to customize your ship.

One thing I have not decided right now is how to win. Any suggestions?

Update: Finished the flying machine and added another weapon (Orcish Machine Gun). It's a hard to get item.

How do you win?
Is this a team based game or a FFA?

Like I said in my first post, I haven't decided how to win. I've been thinking about some stuff.

The first thing I thought of is that there could be a timer and at the end the person with the most gold would win. But this might not be fair because someone might have bought a good ship or weapon before and would have considerably less gold than someone that didn't buy anything.

Another thing I've thought of is making the players fight at the end. Say, give everyone 30 minutes or so to prepare and then force them to declare war on eachother.

There are still plenty of ideas I have for winning. Do you have any suggestions?

Perhapes at the begining of the game let the players choose the victory conditions. This could let you have many differant fun ideas that more people would enjoy.

That's a great idea. Thanks.

Right now I'm implementing the weapons. I have put in the tier 1 weapons already (archers, small cannon, rockets, and anti-air rockets).

There will also be a special ship you can buy. Actually, it's not even a ship. It's a flying machine. The contract will be tough to find and it will cost alot, but some weapons can't attack air.

Here are a couple pictures. This boat has archers, small cannon, and rockets equipped. I couldn't take a screenshot of all three firing so here's archers and small cannon firing.

By the way, I'll be updating the original post as I make progress.

I think that when you buy the deed to a new boat, you still keep your old one. That way one could become a collector of ships, and switch to a ship better equipped or able compared to who or what they wish to attack.
