Whenever i download a skin off of the internet I send it to the improt manager in the editor. I go to create custom unit. Choose Arthas. I change icon game interface to the skin. There is one problem though. I cannot change the model file thing. That is what changes his image on the map itself. Is there some wierd thing that I have to do? I could use some of your help! Thank You! ![]() |

I haven't been on this site or been working on mdls for a while, but you need to extract the Arthas.mdx file from the mpq file. Use Yobgul's File convertor to make it an mdl file and open it in Notepad. Go to the textures portion of the file and change it to your custom path. Convert it back to an mdx and import using the Import Manager. p.s. The textures section is near the top of the file. |

The Yobgule's File Converter only lets me change it to TGA or BLP format. It says MDX and the other thing only in that evil faded gray text that wont let you click on it. Whats up with that?! ![]() |

a skin file is a texture that is wrapped around a 3dimensional model or mdl file. The skin is just what you would think it is if you were to take all of your skin off your body flatten it out onto a piece of paper and you got a picture. The model mdl file is the 3d structure. Lastly....your skin file is initially in jpg/tga or bmp and you edit it in like photo shop or paint shop pro and then its converted with your yogbuls program to get it into blp format which is just a blizzard texture format. and your mdl file is the actual model and its either edited in notepad and other 3rd party programs or made from scratch in an actual modelling program and then transfered from an mdl file to a mdx file which is a blizzard game readable formate. |
