Combining "lizard" and spider would be hard... So far looking interesting.. But would there be both, fur and scales or just other? May end up looking bad mix, but would never know before it's finished..

There doesn't seem to be much snake in it except the face try putting in a serpents body somewhere on the monster it could substitute arms or the thing that curls down from its ass (I forget name of it... thorax?)

Great work. Nice idea, reminds me of that nerubian stinger...
Maybe more horns on the legs would be cool?

It looks damn cool Muo.

Kinda reminds me of Your nerubian thingy... a bit too much like your nerubian thingy...

Yeah, I don't like how the scales texture meets the hair of the spider. Looks quite unnatural. The actual rendering of the hair though, is rather good.

I think the head needs the most work, and the abdomen could be more dragon-like, perhaps? I did a quick mock-up in photoshop to see what direction one could explore with this. Although it looks more like a murloc-nerubian mating gone horribly wrong!

The idea itself is bitchin though. Far from the worst idea ever, mate. You might have benefitted from doing some thumbs first to get the design down-pat before you jumped into the rendering. Hard to correct that now.

Keep at it!

edit: I had a thought on how to integrate the scales and hair. Well, firstly, the scales should be larger than they are to properly differentiate them from the hair. Secondly they need those specular highlights to make them look hard and shiny.

Anyway, the scales would occupy any region of body exposed to the sun, while the hair hangs down in matted strands from his underside. Would make for a more gruesome look.

If someone's gonna complain about the lack of wings, send him to me. I had enough of "dragon must have wings". I'll surely kill all must-have-wings adepts.

maui maple leaf all the way.

on the wings note, i like land dragons better than flying dragons cuz you can give em more muscle and horns and scales and spikes. it doesn't make sense for a flying dragon to be weighted down with all sorts of heavy scales and shit.

Well considering dragons are creatures of myth you can make them however you want.

Seeing as their also highly magical, they could weave a spell to make themselves weightless, thus requiring only the smallest wings.

Sha-ZAM.
