Ruined Defense - Front Lines

Ah yes, another tower defense. This one, however, has been in development for almost a year now and has undergone a numerous amount of changes and extended periods of passiveness. Finally I am nearing a stage that will allow me to release part. Only part of it that is. In fact the first tier to be frank.

Make no mistake that this is no average TD that requires you to build one, maybe two, towers and upgrade it(them) until they gain god-like qualities, then build another and repeat. The truth is, my one greatest goal is to allow for as many different possibilities of towers/units as will be allowed. That and having those combinations each be useful against different kinds of enemies.

Basics of Ruined Defense:

This is a solo Tower Defense, meaning you can play this alone, or with up to eight other players, and only have to worry about your own defense. You are granted four connected rectangles on which the runners will, well, do their thing. Only the first rectangle is activated upon the start, however. You will have to pay to activate the next three.

In order to make way for a better variety of towers, I have completely revamped the attack and defense types. This includes two new attack types (Blunt and Electric), and one (Magic) new armor type.

In this version there will (as currently planned) be three different waves, which are made up of eight levels each. The each wave will have the same order in armor types. That order is as follows: Unarmored, Normal, Light, Medium, Magic, Heavy, Fortified, and finally Heroic.

There are two different classifications of towers in Ruined Defense. They are towers (duh) and units.

Towers:
Basic buildings of defense. Towers do great in bulk because with them quality can easily be sacrificed for quantity. They can also be sold for 10% more each than units can. Towers however are obviously stationary and must be completely rebuilt if their original position proves inadequate.

Units:
Can easily prove more or less reliable than towers. Units with melee attacks can prove to allow for a much more controlled defense, due to their limited range. They can also change their position in order to get a better vantage point, allow another unit to take their place, or perhaps to make a bond between units possible. While moving, however, units will not be able to attack.

Now seeing as how Front Lines is just the first tier it will lack many qualities that will be in the final Ruined Defense (not to mention the two second tier races, and four third tier ones). I am well into the second tier, though, so once I have released the first one, and made sufficient changes on it, it should not be too long till the next major release.

Well, now that I'm past that lengthy description I will give some simple screenshots.

your goal...along with every1 else in the world. everyone sais they dont want to make something with just a few towers u upgrade and they want a ton of combinations and such which turns out to be bullshi* in the end...

i think thats a pretty promising idea...atleast i hope it will be...
anyway i think this td sounds great, but really if u want to make alot of combinations and not just a tower u upgrade a bajillion times. dont even make new tower upgrades just make a few upgrade at a command center like 2 or 3 that give ur towers a lil boost in a attack or something. anyway i dont have much more to say so keep workin on it and hope to see it soon

If you can have units, whats stopping me from training a bunch of units and blocking the way to the "exit" zone

Somehow I overlooked that fact for a long time, however recently I noticed it and simply set all the runners to flying movement. Units are buildings however, and use the root ability to change position; they will not be able to attack while moving.

I never much liked path TDs. I always preferred maze D's like cube defense.
