Wee. Some random sketching out of boredom. The hand and the mouth are from reference, rest just goofing around :p ![]() |

Guest | You should work on better lips because they look really odd except for the detailed one on the second page. Your noses don't seem to be defined enough (unless you are drawing anime) try to add nostrils and a wider bridge. EDIT- oops I clicked Cinematic help uh, ignore that. |

Well actually I was going for a bit more animeish/mangaish/whatever look with the sketches :) The faces are by no means aimed at realism. The eye on the first page and lips & hand on the second page on the other hand are. Thanks for commenting :) |

Thanks wormskull :] I like the eye myself too :P As for the hand, I used less time on it than I did on those litle goofy things, that's no excuse though x) I drew some more today, and plan on coloring it all the way when I feel like coloring again. Just colored the eye for now :p pencil color wip |

Try to improve your hatching, 'cause it looks like some scribble instead of nice uniform hatching. Try approx 45 degrees strokes at first, and when you're pretty good with that, combine different angle strokes. |

TDR - thanks, I'll try that, I also think I should improve my pencil shading, it's just that I mostly CG my pics unless they're just sketches. Worm - thanks for the compliments :) I came up with the colors from my head pretty much. Someone else said they look weird actually x) And now that you mention the shape, it seems like there's a empty place between the upper skin and the eyeball, curves a bit too much on the middle. I suppose that's what you ment. :) |

Hatching IS pencil shading. Actualy a method of pencil shading. |

ah maybe I said that wrong x) I know that it's pencil shading. what I ment was that I agree with you that I should improve my pencil shading :) |

hookay, this didn't quite turn up as I first ment it to turn up :P well the idea is basically the same, just that I did the thingie in front a bit differently than I first thought I would. had to change the eyes color, cause it put the whole picture totally off. I guess the image is a bit blurry, but oh well :) C&C is welcome |

It looks good blurry. nice job. |

ugly brush work. get a pressure-sensitive pen tablet. Or at least any pen tablet. Any of em are better than the mouse. |

NightArcher01 - Thanks. TDR - Heh, that was blunt :P Actually I do have a pressure sensitive tablet. I used painter classic on this one, which uses pressure to increase opacity instead of increasing and decreasing brush size like photoshop. I usually use photoshop myself though. I agree with you that the brushing sucks here and there, especially on the creature. Anyway, I haven't used a mouse, when drawing, in 2 years. |

Ouch. You may have a tablet, but this looks like it's made with a mouse (realy no offense). And you can set the opacity to pen pressure in photoshop too, you know. You can set many brush-related things to pen prssure. Practice more with the tablet, doodle as many times as possible, 'cause I could have sworn that this was not made with pressure sensitive opacity. |
