Hey again, writers of this forum. Here's another boring story from me. Did it kind of on the stop. (right now, heh. I'm so bored) Long ago, there is a tale about the fall of a great ancient land. The name of this land has been lost with time, but the end of this great land is well known. It goes as the following: There was once a great king. He treated his people fairly, and justly. His land was almost like the great Arabia, the city of gold and magic. His land was peaceful and fruitful. One day, a traveler came into his land and demanded to see the king. They led this lone traveler to their king without question. The king asked the traveler to who he was. The traveler changed and showed his true form. He was goat demon of destruction. He told the king that unless he could answer his question within one week, he would destory the king's city. The king laughed. He had the powerful magicans and great thinkers around him. There was no question he couldn't answer. The king asked what the demon's question was. The demon said, "King of this city, tell me what power is?" The king gave a laugh, and replied, "Power is how i rule." The demon gave a grin and answered,"You are wrong, but you one week to give me the right answer." After he said this, he was gone in a puff of smoke that smelled of foul fire. The king asked his great thinkers and his powerful magicans, but they all couldn't answer him. The days went by fast, and with it, the king's hope. two days before the demon would return, the king heard his servants talking about a crazy old man from the east living in a lone hut. The king gathered his men, and marched to this hut. The reached it within half a day. The king went in and saw the old man. He asked him, "Are you the sage i heard about?" The man replied, "He who calls himself a sage, is nothing but a big fool." The king smiled, for he liked the answer. He begged the man to answer his question. The old man answered him with the following story: " There was once a monk in the land of China, far to the east. He wanted to know what power was, so that he could stop men from fighting over it. He praied to his god, Buda. That night Buda came to him in a dream and told him that he would give the monk the answer, only if the mok did as buda told him. The monk agreed and woke up. Just then, he heard buda's voice. It told him to climb the mountain near his temple. The monk set forth and climb this mounatin. But the mountain turned to sharp metal. His bled his hands and feet. Still, the monk went on. After three days, he reach the top of the mountain. AS he did, the mountain turned back into rocks. The monk went into meditation and there, buda told him his next task. Buda told him to walk back to his temple. The monk went forth, without rest and walked back to his temple. The road before the monk turned to glass and bed his feets. Still, he went despite the pain. It took everything he had left to make it back to his temple, but he reached it. He faithed from the pain, and dreamed again. There Buda told him, to swim the river near his temple. After this, Buda told him, he would tell the monk the answer. The monk woke up, still bloody and hurt from the climb and the walk, and we to the river. There, he laids his torn clothes, and swam. But as he did, the creatures of the river came and tore his flesh. Still, the monk went on and at last reach the end. Tired, he fell asleep. Buda came to see him again, and asked the monk if he wanted to know the answer. The monk smiled at Buda, and told him that he already knew the answer. After seeing himself suffer so much, he knew what true power was. Buda smiled back, and told the monk's hand. The villagers found the dead monk the next day. " After hearing the story, the king demanded the old man tell him what it meant. The old man smiled and became silent. The king demaned again, but again, the old man don't nothing. For a third time, the king demanded, and for the third time, the old man did nothing. The king had the old man killed, and went back to his kingdom without an answer. For the remaining days, the king and his men tried to see what the answer was. By the eight day, the kingdom was in flames. |

Hehe don't worry, I don't mind reading crap if it's crap like this (:D). I liked it, but I didn't quite understand it. What is true power, anyways? Hmm... Oh well, keep writing. I like it. PS, are you sure you meant "goat" demon? |

Yep. If you search, you can find what i mean by the goat demon. It's quite an easy answer if you look up demonology. Heh. Got too much time on my hand. |
