Changing Item Ability Values to -X

Is it possible to have a lower item ability value than a 0? I have checked the "allow negative numbers in editor", but it didn't seem to help.

Edit: it seems that some ability values can actually be decreased below 0 like Item Bash's damage bonus and Life Stealing.
