A simple WE question (I think)

Ok, hey Destruction here:
I was wondering (Not like it matters like the worlds going to end) what "Gem" does?

(To those who haven't noticed: ) The little green button between the verticle and horizontal scroll bars in WE. When you click it, it says "Gem Deactivated" and click it again "Gem Activated"

So, again, what does "Gem" do? o_O

One (and possibly only) effect of the gem is that it shows death animations on units when you delete them and some other game-effects not normally shown by the editor.

it also plays the unit sound of the cliked unit randomly. it also plays the death sound when you delete him. and what anitarf had said. i think that's all it does.

diablo 2 also had this gem feature on b net dunno why tho, its just blizzard mucking about

was just about to say the ame thing corley the one u get on the chat screen in diablo 2 i dont know the diablo one does do.

The gem is a social experiment created by blizzard to see how much of an uproar one useless button can cause.
