Shadows - My Campaign

I'm back to Warcraft. Dont know if any of you remember me, but probably Fladian will. If not, I can introduce myself. Read my name.

Aaanyway. I am posting this generally for feedback and ideas, but if any of you want to lend a hand I dont mind.
From experience I definately realise I need a long post. Dont want to seem noobish now do I?

So lets get started.

Name of the game is Shadows.

The story takes place after the fall of Lordaeron to the undead, but a short while before WoW. So all of you may be wondering
"What happened to Azeroth during Warcraft 3???"
My answer to this is the campaign I decided to make.

To the point, before the details.
Azeroth is plagued by a new evil. A dark order of sorcerers and necromatic Acolytes known as 'The Fallen' have assembled and have set up a secret citadel in the mountains in the north of Azeroth. Their Dark Master, an immensely powerful Warlock, half undead, known as Balarad leads the Fallen.
The objective of the Fallen, take over Azeroth, slowly, and gain enough strength to summon the Burning Legion.

An immense goal, surely. It is. Summoning the Burning Legion is beyond the Fallen, although they do not know that. That does not mean they cannot take down Azeroth in the process. Culling Necromancers, Sorcerors and all kinds of insane magicians, the size of the Fallen legion grows by day.
Sadly, little action is taken by King Wrynn. He does not realise the size of the threat.
Balarad's advantage.

One of the nobles of Azeroth, reckless, brave Darodar wants to bring to light the truth, and stop the efforts of the Fallen. With his old friend, a former Paladin called Hazak and an Azerothien sorceress, Na'thala, Darodar plans to help defend villages, keeps and eventually locate the hidden citadel. With its location, Balarad can be stopped.

That was the story. So far im on Part 5. The story begins with Darodar meeting up with Hazak and Na'thala near the Dead Mines. They have a little talk to introduce the sitiuation and they plan to travel to the nearest village for the night.
Scene switches to Balarad briefing two of his leading followers, Numbarak and Hakara.
End of Part 1 (cutscene)

Part 2
Story begins with screens of a burnt village. A few prisoners are killed by Fallen Ravagers and Numbarak and Hakara are talking about their success. Theirs orders were completed and the first triumph of the Fallen done.
Darodar, Hazak and Na'thala enter the village they planned to rest in, burning. Hakara already left, but Numbarak and his guards are there.
Level starts.
Enter village, kill Numbarak and go about killing Fallen to retrieve the keys to open the gates beyond the river. Once keys are obtained move across a bridge and find Hakara. Hakara teleports away (by force) and level is won by destroying a Temple of the Damned. Short scene of Balarad and his second in command, Zumektar, standing on a hill viewing everything.

Part 3
Darodar, Hazak and Na'thala continue to try to warn the next village. They meet Balarad on a broken hill, and Balarad warns them that the Fallen are gonna win and you know - conversation. Level starts.
Fight your way past a few creeps and scattered Fallen to reach the village.

As soon as you reach village cinematic conversation with our heroes and a Paladin called Gregorius. After dialogue, short cin of Zumektar and Hakara about to give the command to attack the village.
Cinematic ends, and you must defend a village from swarms of Fallen. You lose if a hero dies, including Gregorius who is CPU at the back of the village.
Eventually, the powerful Zumektar confronts you. Kill him and you win.

Part 4
A cutscene. In the hidden citadel, Hakara reports failure to Balarad. Balarad spares Hakara, and since Hakara is his last leading fallen, Hakara is promoted to second in command. Balarad returns to his altar and Hakara leaves the citadel.
A piece I like very much.
Theres more to it than said of course.

Part 5
Unfinished
Involves our heroes moving on to the next encampment, under the command of an Archmage. Gregorius travels with the heroes. Hakara moves to strike the encampment with overwhelming odds at his disposal.

This time, you must defend YOUR heroes, Gregorius AND the Archmage. Gregorius and the Archmage are CPU once more, but they are surrounded by Stone Walls and a large sum of Footmen, Archera and other warriors.

My plan is that after a loong hard battle, there is a victory and your heroes end the level with a cinematic. I want to make the end of the fight more dramatic, and I need a hero to kill off.

I want Hakara to live, so my thoughts are kill off Gregorius.

Anyway, anyone want to lend a hand? Feedback? Comments? Fladian?

Oh, now I'm seperated from the normal standard list. I feel honored. Just a little more, and I may place myself on the same level as my brother on an other forum... except that I have 3000 posts less than him.

Anyway, I haven't read it yet; you wouldn't get much of an answer when I'm in this condition anyway. But after a quick look over it (and especially reading, chapter) I found that you are describing the levels you want to make. That's not exactly what you have to explain. Not only are you spoiling of what you'll let happen in the story, you are also pushing the excitement of playing away.
The general story of the project is what people are waiting for, or in short, the FAQ :P

1-1-2, hotline. What a nice time to go to sleep -_-' I really should go earlier. I'll miss Evers completely this way.

Actually its not what I have planned - its what I have done.
This is more of a 'BETA' and in the original public version a LOT of things will be changed of course so I am safe to reveal my progress I suppose. ;)

Good to point out Fladian - dont want to make people think the wrong things. After all there is much to be done.

Just thought I might add:
Custom Icons and New Spells, abilities ect added (obviously)
Custom Models
Custom Music

Already put in.
Politics? What does that have to do with anything.

Storyline to be majorly changed as said. I dont want to kill off all the characters in the first few levels either. Besides if I do that - who can live on to a possible sequel. Not hinting there will be one - but just look at Return of the Dragons. Sequel to Spider Queen.

A final bit of info:
Balarad
Dark Master of the Fallen

Darodar
A skillful noble of Azeroth

Hakara
Once a Blood Elf. A Sorcerer of the Fallen.

Hakara
Former Paladin. Exiled for treason and the killing of the Bandit Lord Yanus when he was supposed to capture him.

Na'thala
A talented Sorceress of Azeroth. In her youth temporarily studied at Dalaran.

Zumektar
After Balarad, most deadly of the Fallen. A Warlock of vicious nature.

Numbarak
Sacrificial Master of the Fallen. Half-undead with a decaying face. Not the best warrior, but ruthless and obedient.

Gregorius the Proud
An Azerothien Paladin who was the one that exiled Hazak from the Order. Pride fills him, as his title suggests. Loyal but arrogant.

Danzax
The Archmage who makes his appearance in Part 5.

Balarad's Aide
A Fallen who sometimes accompanies Balarad to look good.

Gregorius' Aide
An Emissary who travels with Gregorius. Makes an appearance in Part 3.

Anything else I should fix up Fladian? :8
I treasure your advice (believe it or not, I know youve seen lotsa action)

FAQ:
Can I join?
Probably. If you can do a Game Cache youre in, never works for me although variables are easy. Terrain would be ok to.

Release date?
No :o

How long will it be?
I plan to make it quite long and as fun as possible.

Why did you reveal what youve done so far?
To show you I am determined to finish.

Doesnt it spoil the story?
No - its a BETA.

So youre planning to redo if after we contribute???
Not the whole thing. Perhaps redo some levels, alter triggers. Keep som guys alive. You know - BETAs can be improved to full versions.

Does Fladian hate you?
What does this have to do with anything. Why are you even asking. This is about the campaign.

Am I a girl?
Look in the mirror.

Whats new in this project?
Nothing much, besides perhaps the fun factor. I just want to make a fun campaign to play, nothing majorly new.

Voice acting?
Too much time taken up, but Ill consider it once everything is done and perhaps insert it if it goes well.

Custom Models?
If you read what I wrote, yes.

So if I suck at Terrain and Triggers, can I join?
No. Unless you chance my mind.

How can I join?
PM me.

How can I contribute.
PM me and Ill tell you

What am I getting out of it?
What do you want to get out of it? Fun? Mentioned in credits? A character of your own? All possible so far.

Any other questions?
PM

Thanks for the encouragement!
It will be finished with or without help - that was my idea to actually work solo but I may as well enjoy the support of people like ya so I posted this thread!

IF you have ANY free time you can perhaps help out in anything you wish, or even just BETA test.
