Ability Editing - Rain of Chaos

Summary: Rain of Chaos is a hero ability that summons multiple Infernals.

Topic: Has anyone taken a closer look at this ability? Unlike any other summoning spell, it doesn't use a Unit Code like Inferno[ninf]. Instead it uses the ID code of another Ability Inferno(Neutral Hostile)[ANin]. Basically it draws its ability from another ability, meaning you might be able to change it to something else say Summon Water Elemental[AHwe] and have a set number of Water Elementals to be summoned.

While this can already be done with Feral Spirits to change the number and what to be summoned, how about other Abilities? What if we try something different like Blizzard[AHbz] or Rain of Fire[ANrf] and you set the number created to be 5. Will it cast 5 Blizzards or 5 Rain of Fire at the same time?

This idea came to me right now so I haven't tried it yet, but it interested me when I saw the Data11 code uses the ID code of another Ability instead of a Unit Code. I'll try this out later and come back with the results, or if you like to give it a go then reply back here. It might be worthwhile, maybe make Holy Light target an area instead of a Single Unit.

Im not too sure about the blizzards, but i think it would work with other units summoning. Blizzard is pretty different than the Rain of Chaos spell, and i really dont think they would be compatable. But hey, maybe you can find something completley new that no ones ever known before, or told anyone else. But i think that the spell is mostly hard coded, and you cant do that. If you really wanna find something out about that spell though just ask the RoK ppl, they edited it and had lightning bolts.

Anything casted by the Rain of Chaos spell has to have a specific target over an AOE, with the ability tobe targeted at the ground, rather than a unit.

In theory you could replace it with anything.... but you have to take a look at what data fields from RoC refers to what fields in Infernal (Not the Dreadlord or Tichondrious infernal) before doing so.... some of them are related, causing the casted spell to take the replaced value, so you'd have to check which data field replaces what and keep in mind those will be repalced in whatever spell is cast.

It's not a bad idea to check and see though. It would be cool to have 5 blizzard spells going on in an area. I'll get back to computer and try it later and I'll be sure to tell you guys how it went.
