Middle Earth

Oh well. Yet another project of mine (look at that Minas Tirith-thread from a couple of weeks ago) is to terrain Middle Earth. So, I have done just that for the past... oh, I don't know. Four months?
'course, I've hardly worked... focused, all that time.
Anyhow, I'm not finished yet, but at last, the map has been sufficiently polished to be presented to the public. There's no doodads yet, and the actual terrain isn't completely finished yet, too. But it's a... hint.

A short FAQ, for those who might care:
1) All tiles are skinned. Some tiles are really nasty, forcing me to place them variation-by-variation, but oh well. As it is, those imported skins push the filesize up to 3 MB, but some clever reducing-of-quality will fix that.
2) Yup, all mountains are just elevated terrain. I'm going to put pathing blockers around them.
3) I've not really planned to make a playable map out of it. Just terraining it has been my goal so far, and it's not about to change, I'd think. So, if there's some mapmaker out there wanting a map of this sort, sure. Wait another month or two, and it's (maybe) done.

Anyhow. 13 pictures and 13 commentaries: (13's my lucky number... eh, not)

http://web.telia.com/~u33221589/me10.jpg - ah, weathertop. to be doodaded

Not bad at all. Looks well made.

One thing that bugs me, in pic 10 the water. Its just so ugly. If your gonna put doodads down on the water its fine but please don't leave it as is.

Uh, yeah, that water looks rather awful. I better do something about that. Oh well, it'll come with the doodads.

Yeah, as said, it's only been roughly shaped out. Doodads and more details will come... later. And later might be a pretty long time from now, depending on what catches my interest in the future - terraining this forlorn map, or playing WoW with all my friends?
Oh well, I've got to get bored of WoW, sooner or later...
