The groundtextures of wc3 are nothing else than a sort of skins. U need a tool for exporting the textures. Wc3 Viewer for example. The textures are mostly under the Path: TerrainArt\"Tileset"\"Nameofthetexture".blp For example: TerrainArt\LordaeronSummer\Lords_grass.blp Just convert it into .tga and than you can modificate the texture with a painting programm like Photoshop 7. ;) |

hmm, I got that working now.. But one thing, Is it possible to use a picture as a ground texture? Uhm, Say I wanted to make.. uhm just take RISK(board game) And i had a copy of the board, could I use that as a texture to cover the map? Is it that "create image" thing? |

Yes if the Map is just a quadratic board it should work without worrying about smooth transitions. ;) |

your better off using a plane model or an uber spalt for somethign like that, terain is searated into 16 or if there are 18 variations 32 64 x 64 pixel pieces that fit together correctly. actlly i dont think you can edit the size of an uber splat ingame so you bes t to get a model of a plane. i'll make one for ya, brb in a sec. alright i made one i assume you know how to skin, so here ya go. and you can always scale this model up, and you can duplicate the model and use more than one of it to make it fit correctly. just check out the 2 skins to 1 model tutorial. |
