How are "Random Groups" used?

I noticed there is a thing called "Random Groups" under "Advanced" at the top of the editor..
What is this used for or what is possible with this?

it lets me make sets of creatures and sets a % besides the creature..

maybe it's to do with trigs?

random groups are the creeps that will randomly and automatically be placed at certain places through out the map at the initilization....
