Why do plp hate anime so much? They have really good design qualities and their cartoons are more convincing/realistic (if you look carefully) than western cartoons. Their movments,gesture and animation in general have way more quality than anything you see in CN

How the hell is anime different. It's the only damn input of cartoon you get these days. Instead of being a bit ORIGINAL and developling your OWN drawing technique just copy an already popular one? No true at all! That's the whole point, manga has become such a popular style that it is rare that it introduces anything new. Though, your pic is well drawn, as are many other pics. And often their coloring's are pro class, but that's just lame for it has been seen so many times.

And yes, some anime movies are pretty f**king good, but there is so much crap amongst them also.

Edit: And you can't "draw" anime and send it here as jpgs. Anime means animation, it's not that style itself.

Of course it's opinions, what the hell would it else be? Reasons for hate is ALWAYS personal opinions. Actually, EVERY SINGLE THING you have in your head is in one way or another an opinion. You can't just brush off the post in that way, you asked for the reasons, you got the reasons. Now suck it up.

Now I've heard the arguement that there is good rare stuff 100 times before, but then do ansver me: Why do the drawers of these GOOD series choose to use a drawing method which so many other CRAP comics use instead of being original and creating their own style? How can they be good artists if they don't have imagination enough to come up with something new artisticly? They only reuse it because it SELLS, and when such capitalistic motives are behind the creation, I can NEVER think to highly of anime, good or bad.

Anime as shows is interesting because of the exaggerated motion, making it more interesting and it only looks like that because its a basic simplification, however as a drawing style it seems kind of pointless to draw in a style that was created to be more easily reproduced. I suppose it can be fun for a while, but using it as a long term style seems like a waste.

Yes I agree some anime can be extremely bad and not have any point to it but Naruto is one of the better ones. Also I would like to post a quote...

Two posts actually address the artwork without tangentially spewing the purported enlightenment of their respective authors. Discussion of the subject as it directly relates to artwork is certainly encouraged, but I don't know if there is a place for disrespect here, implied or otherwise.

Good pencil technique; I like the full-bodied figure. When the hatching is flat, it helps to define the planes in a linear way, but in some areas I think cross-contour lines that follow the form could more implicitly communicate the volume in rounded areas.

I like your interpretations of the styles. Good stuff. I wouldn't mind seeing more.
