A couple of questions...

I was wondering if you guys could solve some questions that I have. I'll give you guys rep. if you help, and I will once the 24-hour rep. "cooldown" time has ended. :P

1. Is it possible to slow a unit's movement speed and/or attack speed by a percent amount?

2. Can Boots of Speed make you slower, and not faster? I heard, again, that the shift-enter thing doesn't work anymore.

3. It is possible to make it so that, when the Spirit Breaker walks around, the lantern that he carries affects sight at night? When he becomes, ethereal, he can see invisible units?

4. About Drunken Brawler: Does the percent of chance work at any number? I heard that only 5% and above work.

5. Is there a way, when equipping a weapon, depending on a certain amount of strikes that you do, it will eventually break?

To answer all of those. Yes.

1: Simply give the unit a modded boots of speed ability that has a negative speed bonus.

2: Yes, i don't know who told you shift-enter doesn't work, it does. shift-enter is basically the override switch for the WE. It overrides all normal boundries. Even so, if you simply check "Allow negative object values" in the File - Preferences dropdown, you can now give a negative value to the speed boost.

3: Yep, not sure exactly what you mean here, do you want to increase his sight at night? If so simply change it in object manager. Explain more if i'm wrong. To give him true sight while ethreal, simply give the ethreal form true sight. This should work.

4: Yes. Below 5% works, dunno where you got that from.

5: Yes. With triggers you can set an items custom value to how many hits you want it to last. Then set another trigger so every time the unit holding the item attacks it reduces the custom value by one. It then checks all items and if it finds one with a custom value of 0, it removes it.

I'm not so sure about the boots. I tried that once and the unit wouldn't move any slower or maybe it didn't allow me a negative value at all, I don't remember. Try it, if it works it works, otherwise it doesn't.

yes the boots of speed does not allow you to give it negative value. give it a negative movement unholy aura instead.

about how to slow attack speed, give the weapon a negative gloves of haste ability.

I *have* heard that percent-chance-to-fire abilities only work every 5%, so critical strike would only have a 5%, or 10%, or 15% chance to fire, and so on. I suppose it rounds up.

However, I haven't tested that. You'd need to make appropriate critical strike abilities and manually test to see how often they fire.

You could make a map that counts how often a unit attacks, and you could make an event that adds to a "crit" counter whenever the player hits Escape, and then play the map and hit Esc whenever he crits to count it up, and figure out how often it fires. You'd have to use this somewhat roundabout method since, to the best of my knowledge, you can't detect critical strikes yet.

Then again, you could also detect amount of damage dealt and increment the crit counter whenever it's double what you expect, too.

That's odd. I just went and stared at a unit not have it's move speed decrease at all despite the fact that it picked up an item that should halve it. I also tried giving the ability directly to the unit, no luck. I am interested how you got it to work...

ediotr preferances-> Allow negative values (its somewhere.. maybe options, i forget)

increase his nightime sight range, and edit the "spirit walker (ethereal)" unit to add truesight (i think)

it may only work at 5% and above, but i highly doubt it. (Then again, it is blizzard math :-/ )

lots of tiriggering, but it is possible. ask in the trigger forum for more help.
