Hi. I need a few mappers, mostly skilled in terrain, though perhaps a triggerer or two could help. Anyway, the project's called Methi RPG. It's a multi-player multi-map game. With save codes, of course. It's almost all compelte, except for the quests, and some of the terrain. There are three classes, four skills each, which can get one of eight professions (2 per class), which have 11 skills in each profession. Each class has it's own main quest, which gives it a different reward in each case. Storyline is mapped out and is quite intricate. All the details are on the forums, in the annoucements section. You dont' need to register. http://www.methi.cjb.net/ - With Ad but shorter URL http://www.s8.invisionfree.com/methirpg - Without EDIT: I guess I'll post the FAQ for you guys to get interested enough to check the forums Q. What is different about this RPG, compared to others? A. I won't lie to you. Not much, except for the item and camera systems. This is a standard Semi-Open RPG. There's nothing that's really original about this RPG, except that it takes alot of the best elements from some RPGs, and polishes them. But trust me, it'll be good. Oh and another major thing, is that it can be played over multiple maps. So when you finish one one terrain, you can load your character on another. It also has a main storyline, which is slightly more complicated and interesting then most other RPGs. Q. Ok, what's different about the item system? A. Ok, here's the deal. In total, you have 11 different places where you can place items. Why 11 you ask? Because you can wear 1 weapon, 1 armor, 1 shield, 2 rings and 1 pair of boots, as well as carry 5 different things. How is this phenomenon acomplished? Your inventory is diviced into segments. You have your weapons inventory, and so on, as well as a main inventory and a backpack. The equipment inventories are where you place items you would like to equip. Only when the items are placed in the proper inventory do they give bonuses. Your backpack is where you can keep up to 5 items which you are not using. Equips and non-equips can be placed here. The main inventory is the inventory which have items which allow you to choose which inventory you would like to go to. Simple enough, right? Q. Ok, what about the camera system? A. The camera system has three different modes. One is free, which is basically the normal in-game camera. Another is Locked, which locks the camera behind your hero and moves with your hero as he turns. The final mode, which is my favorite is 3rd person. This mode allows you to move the camera in a demi-sphere around your hero, using the arrow keys. It's fairly straightforward (wasn't that straightforward to program though )Q. Can I save my hero? A. Yes indeed you can. At any time in the game you may save your character. You will receieve a save code. This save code is not overly long, although you won't be able to remember it off the top of your head, you'll have to write it down, it will take like 10 seconds to type in, or less. The only drawback to this code is that it doesn't save the items in your backpack, only those which are equipped. Q. What does the map look like? A. The RPG system will span many maps so you can play a number of different terrains. But for now, the first map will be on an Ashenvale tileset. Q. What kind of skills will I have? A. There are currently three types of heros, Archer, Swordsman or Mage. Each has 4 unique skills, some trigger enchanced. In addition to this, you also have a choice of two secondary skills. The secondary skills are (2 per class, Archer, Swordsman, Mage, repectively): | Thiveing, Fletching | Smithing, Recruiting | Enchanting, Alchemy |. Q. How much of this map is done? Currently the map is about 80% done. All the secondary skills, aside from thieving, are pretty much done, all the main skills are done. The camera system and item systems are done. Most of the items are in. The terrain is about, I dunno 10% done, but that'll go up quickly. It's coming along nicely, if I do say so myself. |

Unfortunatly, not many people can lend a hand these days... Just give it more time and people will come. It took like a week before people started to help on my thread. |
