Whats happend?!

in the past year?!

hey everyone! im one of the (around) 100 oldest surviving members!
so, allow me to begi nthe bombardment of questions and spelling mistakes:
where is stonedstoopid?
where is cookie?
what happend with 99% of the mods?
why is darkys site full of CRAP?
where did all of the old modders go? (i can guess... they used the new TFT triggers to add the "wander" ability to themselves, dident they? BASTARDS!)
why do i feel compelled to post a useless question?
and finally,
Is the answer to all of the previus questions "A REVOLUTION"?

i have a general answer for all of that, this site is getting old, wc3 is getting old, and now WOW has ate most of the people.

yeah noobs like me were the only ones left in this site. *sigh* :\

well i guess the mods were finished or cancelled. then more came along and did the same. then last year there was a great group of mods here and then the admins decided to clear most of them out and few remained. some of the good ones went to samods and others went to hubb the rest died or went onto another site

WC3C dying? what a waste.... you should have seen it in its day!

anywho, being a noob is NOT bad. being an idiodic noob unwilling to learn and mature is bad.

wc3c may be dying slowly, doesnt mean modding is. go check out other websites there are many good mods around which few see

and WC3C was always at war with itself and others. this is nothing new. and 2 years ago everyone was also a noob. the differance is, that now, the site is loosing its heart.

Back before everythign was point n click, people worked hard, and where proud of their work. Now, people feel prod of no acomplishment. "OMG, i made a SHEEP TAG! i r teh uber! IT HAS CUSTOMZ abiliTYS!"... i remember the ORIGIONAL dota. it was popular becaus... it had custom abilitys BEFORE the ability editor! can you say SLK edditing?!

Now all i see are CnP maps... and REALLY OLD ONES! (genessis of empires, dark deeds, DoTA, tree tag, binders, Multisquare defense, heros and empires, just to name a few origional ideas that became classics.)

the community is dying because WC3 is too easy to mod now... PR has lived SO long because its lead by die-hard SC fans, and its one heck of a challange! so is TTOR, and all the other big ones. see a pattern? big hard mods stay long, easy quick mods die.

true true. i suggest you visit other wc3 sites, smaller sites usually have a less noobish makeup.

StonedStoopid is still on IRC, as Uluru.
Some mods finished, some died, some are still being worked on.
Cookie and Darky have left, apparently, however this isn't official.

WC3C is far from dead. We're still the biggest and the most active warcraft 3 modding site, despite paulH's attempts to use threads like this as a tunnel to his favorite site.



Ok, we're the bad guys for dropping them. Did any of those we dropped finish ? No.


It isn't dying. Good or bad is a point of view. The fact is that all those "good mods" you are talking about aren't finished and chances are they never will be.


I don't think so. Smaller sites have less resources, and they never have what you call a "less noobish" feeling. On the contrary, it's the other way around. What kind of site fakes a hacking scenario to draw people's sympathy ? You don't have to like this site paul, but please stop using it as a recruiting camp for others.

dorelian, you are over-reacting. all i was doing was telling a fellow member that other modding sites are around. you dont need to be so defensive when all i was doing was telling Earth-fury that other mod sites exist and that they have good mods. you are just showing yourself and this site up by acting this way

. . And look where they are now =).

And seriously, don't try to kid yourself. It's wc3 that is dying -not wc3c- and mods are generally quite a waste of time. I mean, wow. You spend months working on something that all of FIVE people are going to download and play. That seems like a solid investment.

anywho, my rant stands. what mods are still alive? the REALLY HARD ONES! what ones have died? The ones lead by un-dedicated people, and the easy ones.

ah.. and rightfield, look around, im one of the oldest durviving member,s not one of the oldest people. im 15 now BtW :P im not a little kid anymore! yay!

@dor: the site has been dying for a year. its happening slowly. Most good forums and communitys die in this manner. i give this site another 2 years tops.

and WC3 search needs some damn mods.... *walks over there to hopefully try to do some good... and hopes his IP changes when he gets banned*
