Brah & Noctula portraits.

Brah is my orc shaman, Noctula is my brothers priest. both pics done completely in photoshop with a tablet, and especially with the noctula one i went berserk on the lighting and shading, its fun to experiment with that. not completely melkted into perfection, they're just tabbie practice shots so i dont get rusty ;)

both characters walk the shattered hand server in europe, and are membvers of the guild 'the oni of kalimdor', in wich some wc3c old-timers such as muloc-lover and gooi are as well. its fun.

Well, funky drawings... As for the lightning, try to add more highlights, and more contrasts. mhhh... The mouth of the female ne looks very flat.
You've done a good job :)

yesh, i must work on my females... but keep in mind these are all-tabbies, so i'm not that skilled at it yet.

Wow, nice hears. Mhh... the hair is weird. Really. Looks like horns...
the horns themselves are quite strange also, they're larger at the end...
The perspective is interesting. I like it more than the others.

hmmyes i suppose the hair could look a bit like horns... lets hope the shading fixes that up nicely...

the head has inspired me to do more, i'm planning to do a troll hunter in light leather gear, bearing a musket and a vulture or other bird of prey as its pet, it could work out quite cool if i can pull it off the way its in my head right now... after a couple of scetches it should look good. if i like the comout i'll submit it to the blizz again...

as for the head, i'll finish that and probubly try to have him smoke a pipe, that should give for some pretty interesting shading/lighting practice... think lotr:tfotr, the first scene you see strider smoking his pipe... that kind of lighting i think i'll go for, verry dark and atmospheric. yeah. should be cool.

All your trolls seem to have the same facial characteristics: a large chin, long tusks and nose with a pointy tip. Try to vary them. Also draw more gnomes ;) (I have a gnome rogue and have fallen in love with him).

maybe thats becouse a big chin, big pointy nose, big ears and big tusks are the vharactristics of a troll? exit the tusks and make the nose not huge and suddenly your troll has become a nightelf, ever noticed that strange little simulairity? :)

the biggest points of variation on a troll are the eyes, hair, brow area and tusks, tinker too much with the rest and you loose the trollness.

EDIT: looked over the pics some more, and the second troll is really quite a lot diffrent in facial build, his chin is a lot thinner and pointyer, he has bigger cheeckbones, diffrent brow setting and eyes, and not to forget, a diffrent do and tusks. peh.

i've played a gnome as well, but i think i'll leave the gnomes to orc-oh-yoyo, hes the gnome pimp. i just love them trolls a lot (though i dont play one >_>) they're best fun for me to draw along with goblins (old school WCII ones, that is)

i could use some comments on the shading though, i'm still experimenting a lil bit with it. i allready see that this last one looks infinatly better to me then Brah and Noctula. i'm scetching up that pic of this guy with body and pet, i'll try to scan a scetch of it tomorrow and get some feedback on the pose and stuff. yeah. thanks for posting, anyway.

i dont know if he'll have the pipe, thoug, but sure is he'll use a musket and have a vulture-like pet, but a colorfull vulture with a really extravagant pattern... hehe, i cant wait to start up photoshop and start cracking, but for a full body shot i'll need a paper scetch or i'll utterly fuck up the propotions :)

resized to verry small (12.5%) so you can see the bigger picture a bit better, instead of drown in scetchy lines and unfinished detail.
