Change Skin

Can someone just tell me how I change one skin?
Ive done this before but It where a while ago and I dont remember it anymore.

This is how Ive done:

1.Extracted Witchdoctor skin from the .mpq with "W3M Map Utilities".
2. Changed the colour on the trolls skin.
3. Saved is as .tga
4. Converted it to .blp with "Warcraft 3 Viewer".
5. Imported it to WE.

The thing is that when I want to use it, I can only use it as an Icon.

This is probably really easy but I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to do this.

change the path to the unit's path. for witch doctor it would be something like Units\Orc\Witchdoctor\Trollwitchdoctor.blp (but im too lazy to check the exact path ^^)
you can check paths for things in programs like image extractor.

Well, the problem is still not solved.
The skin still displays as an icon and not as an skin

when you change the blp path to a skin, it only shows on the unit in-game. the unit will not appear custom-skinned in the editor. try testing the map w/ the custom path.

Did you saved, closed and reopened the editor?

ok, then the problem is that you didn't tell the skin where to go, so you need to change the path.

It can extract models/skins and you can see the paths.
Just go to the model you skinned, press ctrl +m. You get a screen, path is in there.

wait, i think i realise problem. your not acualy trying to assign the skin after changing the path are you? because youre not supposed to select it as a model. the change is automatic, and only goes on the unit model that you made the path for.

Ok, I got wc3 viewer, now how do i change the path?
by pressing Ctrl+M when opened the skin opens up an menu with these option:

Load List"Save List"Change"Activate"Deactivate
and
Ok"Delete"Reset all"

What to do now?`change?


LOL! I tried to "Save,close,reopen" WE and the skin changed. Sry for bothering you.
