Some of you may have spotted my Ogre Kingdoms thread in the WIP modelling section. It is here:

http://www.wc3campaigns.com/showthre...6&page=1&pp=25

To those that haven't, and those who haven't checked it in a while, I wanted to display my latest work. The modelling is pretty much finished, and I've transfered the meshes into 3DS Max for texturing. Once it is finished, the models will be animated, and then everything will be ready for the actual Mod! Whee! The Ogres are Coming!

Anyway, here are the first few models that have been skinned. I'll post 'em all over, cuz I want more people to know that the Ogres are coming. Plus, I'll need some help animating and programming later on.

Behold:

The worker unit of the Ogre Kingdoms. Based on the Warhammer Gnoblars, Gu are crow-like creatures that have a bit of goblin in them.

The worker of the Ogre Kingdoms. Based on the Gnoblar, the Gu are a race of crow-like goblinoids.

Abilities:

Build Structure - Constructs various structures. Slavelings can use Shared Construction to build structures faster by having other Slavelings help.

Repair Structure - Repairs damaged structures. More Slavelings can repair a structure faster.

Harvest Resources - Gathers gold and lumber.

Roost - Gus take roost in anything that can use the Gu Roost upgrade. Several Ogre buildings can use the Gu Roost upgrade.

Yeah, here we go! The Brawlers are the mainstay of the Ogre Kingdoms army. In addition to being able to pound anything shorter than they are into greasy paste, the Brawlers can be upgraded later on with the Bellow ability, which boosts their attack power for a short time.

Abilities:

Bellow (requires Song of War upgrade at Ogre Mound) - Increases the Ogre Brawler's attack damage and attack speed by 25% for a short period of time.

The Meat Pot will be invisible until it's upgrade is researched at the Shrine of the Maw. Then, the Butcher will lug it around underneath his left arm. It'll boost health, health regen, mana regen, and lower the Butcher's food cost. Also, the black bits on his face mask will be invisible when the alpha map is put in. I'll add some frays to his apron too.

Abilities:

Cannibalize - Ogre Butchers love fresh meat and will devour corpses on the battlefield to restore their health.

Blood Frenzy - Increases the attack rate of a target unit by 50%.

Meat Pot (requires Meat Pot upgrade from Shrine of the Maw)- Meat Pots produce 1 food, so fewer Meat Pens are required to keep the army fed if there are several Butchers present. Also increases total health and health regeneration for the Butcher.

Blood Hunger (requires Blood Magic upgrade from Shrine of the Maw) - This spell will enable the target unit to heal its wounds whenever it spills blood, causing 50% of it's melee damage to be restored as health.

The second spell-caster unit, Hunters are stealthy warriors with a ranged attack. They're better suited to hit and run tactics, summoning hordes of monsters with Monster Lure and Summon Sabre Cat, then plinking enemies from afar and using Stalk to escape if things turn uglier than they are. They also make good anti-air.

Abilities:

Stalk - Enables Ogre Hunters to use camoflage to disguise their movements, rendering them invisible until they make an attack.

Ensnare (requires Basic Hunter Training at Ogre Mound) - Ogre Hunters use heavy rope nets tied to stones to bring down prey. Their strength enables them to use their nets against flying enemies.

Monster Lure (requires Basic Hunter Training at Ogre Mound) - A delicious skewer of raw meat that attracts nearby wildlife. Properly placed lures can draw monsters into enemy encampments. The monster counts as a creep and will attack both allied and enemy forces.

Summon Sabre Cat (requires Advanced Hunter Training at Ogre Mound) - Sabre Cats are a favoured pet of the Ogre Hunters. They can be summoned into battle from the wilds at a moment's notice.

That's it for now. Any comments or criticisms on the skins are welcome.

Next models:

Sabre Cat - Probably just a re-skinned Nightsabre panther with no rider
Gu Fodder-Pack - Basic ranged unit
Gu Omen Reader - Gu spellcaster
Good Omen - Created by the Gu Omen Reader's Might and Weakness spell
Bad Omen - Created by the Gu Omen Reader's Might and Weakness spell
Ogre Bombarder - Mighty seige unit that can also make normal melee attacks
Ogre Kettlekin - The big bad meatshield of the Ogre Kingdoms...
