Guest | ok i wana host my own b.net games but cant cause of my goddam router! Anyway ive tried EVERY tut on how to do it and there all the same, Ive opened all the ports, turn of my firewall on all computers (router) but it still dont work!!! =[ I heard you can open ports on the net and all that but i dunno the address, iam behind a router (5-Port 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch) please could someone help me, and dont jus give me too a link to tut on how to do it cause ive read them all!! |

what rotuer (brand / model) are you using? are you using windows XP Service pack 1/2? do you have norton / zone alarm / any other network monitoring program? |

Guest | well on the router it says "5-Port 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet Switch" iam using SP2 and to my knowlage there aint any programs network monitoring |

#1: disable windows firewall. (its a Pice of sh**) #2: thats what your router IS. what BRAND and MODEL, eg: im using a Dlink DI-524 |

If you're router has DMZ, activate it for your comps lan ip whenever you wanna play. This way, all port requests for your comp will be forwarded. Oh btw, a Switch isn't a router. You're looking at the wrong box most probably. |

yep. check your routers website for information on how to setup your DMZ (you will need a static IP, ask if you dont know how) |

Guest | i have no idea what brand my router is cause it says nothing on it ether, the router is what connects one computer to another computer so they share the same internet right? jus wana check if iam right bout it :P Is there anyway to check what brand it is to find the website and stuff and how do i get my static ip? |

i have no idea what form of network you are using, theirfore i cannot help you in any maner. A router is difrent then a switch. Ask the person who set up your network to post the information about it here, so we may help you. |

erm, i dont think i can help you. I think i know what your network setup is, but i have no experiance in that area. So call your ISP. |
