Need Opinions!!! (on my sig)

Hey guys i'm new to these forums and also new in design...i need some opinions on the sig i've been making that reassambles the demon hunter..(i didn't draw him)...anyways i used PSP8.

You like it or not?

Any suggestions?

The glow around the demonhunter could be a different color, just im not sure what.

Or, simply remove the glow? Just because a filter or process exists doesn't mean you have to use it. This is more true in some cases than others of course, but remember that every thing does have its place. I think it would have more impact without the glow. Less is more, after all.

Design-wise, the picture just doesn't flow. The eye jumps from the name to the picture, with nothing to join them together. They are fighting for attention, and the result is less succesful for it. Also, the red stroke around the font doesn't fit in with the colors.

Try experimenting some more. Don't be afraid to throw away things that don't work and start from zero again. Clinging to a concept can hold you back.

Asides from that, welcome to the forums. I hope your stay is enjoyable.

The biggest problem I have with the sig is that the words contrast way too much. Sure, you want people to be able to see them, but make it so that they seem like part of the sig, not something else. I'd suggest changing the border color on the letters to something more like purple... red just stands out too much.

I hate it when people take a perfectly good image they think is cool, add some name they think is cool and throw some filters on top. Internet sigs go hand in hand with modern art!

Well, just don't want any "special rights" for anyone, despite how good they are at what they fo best. It may be that I take things too seriously.

Gee, got a bad rep for advicing Wormskull to respect other writers. It's not like it matters, but I found it kinda wierd. Well it's said.
