Can anyone give me tips on how to reduce lag in my cinematic? I've already added fog, so don't bother with that, and I've reduced the number of units as much as I can without making "an army greater than any yet seen in that world" seem patheticaly small... |

having too many doodads - such as the fire - can create a ton of lag if used too much, its always ok to add some though. Thats really all i can think of now |

By "added fog," you mean you added the fog that gets thicker into the distance right? I'm not sure if that alone will reduce lag (or it might even make it worse), you have to change the camera's Far Clipping lower too. If you've already done that, you can always make it even lower (unless it starts getting rid of the army). Also if you have any weather affects (white fog, sunbeams, rain, etc), that could increase the lag. If it's still laggy, maybe some closeup shots of the army would work better. |

Actually, terrain fog, not the Weather Effect kind, but the proper fog, lessens lag, as it hides what's in the distance, and keeps the computer from needing to draw so much. Thanks anyway... |
