There are several ways to add hero glow. The easiest way is probably to get the World Editor Unlimited, which offers hero glow models and triggers that add hero glow to a specific unit.

If you don't have World Editor Unlimited for some reason, then you can always download one of the Hero Glow models at http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Mo...ea93c24789a2c8. After downloading, import the model into your map. Then create a custom ability based off of an item ability such as Item Armor Bonus +1. Set all values to zero, i.e. if the ability you base it off of is Item Armor Bonus +1, then set the Armor Bonus field to 0. Then under the Art - Target field, change it to the Hero Glow .mdx file. Finally add the custom ability to the unit you want a hero glow on. Voila!

On a side note, it's also possible to edit model files via notepad if you've extracted them, but either one of Phroxe's ways is better.

removeing hero glow can be done globally (as in remove hero glow from ALL heros) or to individual units, but you will need to learn to edit MDL's (model files)

Which one? the trigger in WEU, or the special effect?

You might have better luck using an aura that doesn't inflict a buff, like tornado damage aura.

Sprite ability anyone (the one that makes balls above the bloodmages head)? or item capture the flag?

aura's are always painfull =P

If you're still at a loss, there are quite some hero glow tutorials. One example is here.

jamo22, are you sure that you have imported tha model correctly? Make sure the paths are correct. The path should be HeroGlow_Origin.mdx. I believe that there may have been a problem with edgarswolentoe's hero glow model with it not changing color properly to suit the player.

If the problem continues to exist, then just get the World Editor Unlimited. There is a trigger that adds the Hero Glow to the unit.

The only problem with my hero glow method is that the colour only suits the unit's proper colour. I.e player 1 is red, so if you change player 1 to say blue, the glow will still be red.

not if you use a white glow model and use the sprite ability: it will use team color.
