Custom Minimap:

This is embarassingly n00by to ask, but...
To get a custom minimap, I'm supposed to import a .tga file, and set the path to:
war3mapPreview
right? I've done that. The imported file isn't...imported. It doesn't add anything to the filesize, and when I look at the minimap, it's the one from "Creatures Of The Night". Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

:(

That is indeed strange. Have you tried re-importing the file?

Done. Still all it will show is the Minimap from CotN...

You said you set path to war3mapPreview; it needs to be war3mapPreview.tga

Be sure it is just like that and you have custom path checked. Also, I would suggest 256x256 size. It takes more space, but 128x128 makes the picture look fuzzy.

I also had troubles with this and I had to mess around with the compression size and stuff. Unfortunately, I don't really know what compression works right, but if you mess around with em it could help.

Make sure after you import the file, and add it to the custom mimimap, that you close the WE and reopen it, before you test to see if it works.

I'm sure you exported stuff from CotN to your wc3 directory. If you did, find the war3mapPreview file, delete it or rename it. If not, try using a different editor, or WinMPQ and import it from there.
